First MOPS meeting

Back on September 12  we had our first MOPS meeting. I LOVE being a part of MOPS. This year I am a table leader and I love all the girls at my table. We did our random draw and I pulled all veteran mommas! Our first meeting is always nerve wracking because you hope that your table all get along and that personalities mix well. Well let me tell you--- I hit the jackpot. Last year our table wasn't very talketive-- this year we all were talking over each other and having 8 different conversations between 6 people. It was so refreshing and made me so happy. (and sad that I am leaving).

Here is my table

Meredith, Megan, Katie, Sally, Brandy, Laura, Susan, Me, & Jennifer

I also convinced one of my long time friends, Pamela to join too. She was skeptical at first but I think she will enjoy it!! (I hope)

Our first meeting is always the logistics...introducing everyone, talking with your table, getting to know each other. Everyone made shirts as our craft (table leaders, encouragers and steering already made theirs) and ate lots of food- I think it was a great first meeting and I am looking forward to as many as I get to go to before we move!

MOPS Draw Event

On July 29- we had our MOP Draw Event. This year I am a table leader and I am so super excited. I love having a purpose and a job and what better job to love on sweet mama's and get to know each other better!! All of steering (leaders), table leaders & encouragers all gathered at Jennifer's house to pray, eat, chat, craft, and "pick" our tables.

The first thing we did was make shirts. It was so fun! I love to be crafty but am not very good at finishing projects- so when we are working as a group I love it!
We cut fabric spelling MOPS and then ironed it onto purple shirts.
My final product : )

After we made our shirts we gathered up and prayed over our year. Anyone who wanted to pray could chime in and we went the Lord in faith that he will bless us with a fabulous year!! We then went to the front yard and "picked" our table members. The steering team had written everyones name on a flower petal and planted it in the front yard. We went out and chose our flowers. I was one the leaders who got picked to have 6 women at my table so I got to choose 6 flowers.
My table is full of fabulous ladies and I can hardly wait to get this year started! I am super super excited!!! I can't wait to see what God has in store for us this upcoming year!!

MOPS Shootout!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE MOPS. I have thoroughly enjoyed every meeting and have loved getting to know some SAHM mom's like myself.  It has been a lot of fun. I am even going to be a table leader next year and I can't wait!

Last Monday night we headed over to Valerie's house for our end of the year table party. We didn't do your typical end of the year party...instead we had a SHOOTOUT!
We all brought our guns & ammo and headed out on their land to enjoy a little shooting. I had never shot a gun before and I was so excited. Granted, I shot the gun Justin carries first (so obviously not a big one) and I- who had never shot a gun before am an idiot and put my hand right up on the top and when I fired...OUCH!! I took a chunk out of my thumb! I had to sit down because I thought I was gonna pass out. Way to start the MOP shoot out right!?! But before long I felt better and was ready to watch some more...took me awhile but I did get back behind the gun. I'll let the pictures tell the story.

I finally got behind the AR myself. It didnt hurt my shoulder near as bad as I thought it would.
 I was super excited I did it! : )
Then Justin emptied the clip once I was done.

After shooting we went back to the house and ate dinner and had to head home from little man's bedtime. It was nice because we had a babysitter for the kids at their house so we weren't far from them the whole night. It was such a fun end of the year party. I love MOPS! Ok- my kid wants lunch...guess I should go feed him.
