Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend we normally travel to Bandera, Texas for the rodeo!! It is something that we don't even discuss its just known that we are going. Granted- Justin has been a lot more than I have but we have gone every year we could. It is so much fun. Before we left though- we had some visitors on Thursday night. My cousin, Vanessa who lives in Louisiana and her hubby and 2 babies. Ty is less than 24 hours older than Ascher and Lucy is 3 months old. Bracy, her husband is about to be deployed again so they were driving thru Houston on their way to a little getaway before he leaves. I am so glad they stopped by and spent the night.

After they left, Daniel & Megan came to pick us up. Mom was keeping Ascher so we had a baby free weekend (other than the one in my tummy) We stay at Daniel's grandma's house and we all call her Grandma. If I say "Grandma" even when we aren't in Bandera everyone knows who I am talking about. We drove up Friday and hung out. Grandma makes tacos (they are her famous tacos) and we headed to the rodeo. I love the Bandera rodeo. It is authentic rodeo. Not like Houston-- Before we left we took some pictures...of course : )

Saturday morning we got up and went to the parade but it was rainy so it wasnt as exciting as usual. We went and walked around the craft fair and I got Brynn 3 metal roses for her nursery that are super cute. After the parade we all went back to the house and took a nap after stuffing our faces with the "best burger in Bandera" for lunch. After our naps we got ready and went back to the rodeo for the final night. We sat in our box seats and had fresh squeezed lemonade and ate fried oreos and funnel cake. It was glorious.

Another successful trip to Bandera for the rodeo!! Can't wait for next year!

Lost Pines: Saturday

Saturday we got up and got ready to go down to the lazy river again. We spent the day down by and in the water. We stayed down there as long as we possibly could before Ascher had had enough and was ready for a nap. (Pictures are on Dad's phone and he hasn't sent them to me yet- other than this one of little man squirting himself with water, which he thought hilarious)

Saturday night we took family photos and went to eat at the restaurant at hotel.

After dinner we let Ascher run up and down the lawn. He was in heaven. There were kids every where so he was watching all of them so intently always on the search for more rocks. (The kid is obsessed- we say he is gonna be a geologist like his K-Dan, Justin's Dad). After awhile of running around we walked over to see the alpacas and longhorns. Ascher wasn't very interested so we took pictures and left- again it was way past his bedtime and he was starting to show it.

Sunday morning we got up and all hung out for a little while before it was time to pack up and head home. We got home around 1 and unpacked and let Ascher catch up on sleep. It was a wonderful family getaway and just what our family needed while we grieve the loss of Grandma.

Lost Pines:Thursday-Friday

Our first ever family vacation was this past weekend. (August 15-18) It was so much fun. We met Mom & Dad, Jess & Roy at Lost Pines in Bastrop. We have never been on a family vacation all together since getting married & having babies. It was a nice change of pace and so much fun.

Justin has a huge family so whenever we go on vacation with them we have tons of fun and there are tons of kids and people to do different things. With my family, there is only Jessica & me. We laughed and said that even when all 6 of us (plus two babies) were in one room that wasn't even half of Justin's whole family. I love that we have both sides of the coin!

Thursday night we all went and ate dinner before walking around a bit and getting a yummy smores!! It was way past the babies bedtime at this point so we headed up to our rooms. Friday morning came --- Jessica, Me, Dad & Justin all went for a walk around the grounds. It really is a beautiful place! There were butterflies, hummingbirds, rabbits, etc. all over the place.

Jess and I sat in rocking chairs overlooking the river while Justin went down by the river and walked up and down it. (Dad was on the phone). We headed back to the room and got into our swim gear to go float the lazy river.

We stayed there the rest of the morning, ate lunch by the pool and then headed back up to the room so that Ascher could take a nap.
After naps we were ready to go to eat dinner. We decided we would go into Bastrop and eat at Chilli's (we like what we know). Before we left the hotel we took some pictures while the boys went and got the cars.

We got to Chillis and it was PACKED. We just enjoyed each others company.

After dinner I had to get my nightly s'more before going to bed for the night. Another day of fun on the lazy river was waiting in the morning. : )
Justin likes to point out that the campfire is surrounded by children...and then there is me. Thats ok. I'll be a kid as long as life will let me!!

Utah- The Last Day & Last Post

Saturday morning after the wedding we slept in and had a chill morning. We showered and walked down to Main Street for some grub. Chelsea & I were more concerned with finding the candy shop and getting candy apples than eating lunch.

We spent the rest of the day relaxing around the house...taking naps and just being together. Jordan's parents just bought a new house in Park City so Saturday night they were having a house party/after wedding party. So we picked up Jordan- went to eat dinner at The Blind Dog and then headed to her parents house. It is BEAUTIFUL!! We are already planning going back in January/February during winter season.

Well there you have it...our trip to Utah. Sunday we got up and said goodbye as we all slowly left. We road to airport with Megan & Rine...hung out at airport for awhile but by this time we were so ready to get home. The fun was over and we were exhausted and ready to see our little man!! Speaking of....he had a blast with Grammy...I'll have to do a post of the photos/fun he had while we were away!!! I can't wait for our next vacation with NANNY! I have found the best friends a girl could ask for. I always say I liked high school better than college but not true. not true. College gave me my friends for a lifetime. So lucky.
