Prayer Needed for a Special Friend

This morning I received some bad news and wanted to ask you all to keep this in prayers-

As all of you know, I am doing my student teaching in a 3rd grade class at Greentree Elementary School with Alice Parker. I went on Friday to the classroom Christmas party and had a blast- Mrs. Parker was great and the kids were even better. She had been out earlier that week because of her husband had just got out of the hospital and she stayed home to be with him. After the party, Mrs. Parker rushed home to be with her husband.

This morning my mom came upstairs and crawled in bed with me. She asked me if I had talked to dad- I hadn't- (obviously, I was still in bed) anyways, I knew it couldn't be good. She lay down next to me and told me that she had gotten an email saying Alice Parkers husband passed away on Sunday morning. I cant imagine this time for her and her family. She told me on Friday her kids and grand kids were coming in on Saturday so it is good that she has them to be around her during this time and that they were able to see him before he passed. But keep her in your prayers that she would feel the peace of God during this season and after...

Psalms 121
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Tradition #1- Matching PJ's

Though my sister and her husband will not be with us on Christmas morning, we still are able to do matching PJ's. We discussed how we both will be wearing them Christmas morning thinking of each other. While my sister was in town we were able to open them a few days early so we could wear them together. So we wore our matching PJ's and of course took some pictures : ) She took some more on her camera but her computer wouldn't let her send them- this one was my favorite.

My Life @ Home

So all my blogs have been non-personal and just random things I have found online- so this blog will be an update considering though my blogs have been lacking my life hasn't. Tuesday my Uncles brother, Dennis and his son, Kevin came in to visit. Kevin is a year older than me and is moving to Kingwood/Humble area to go to a mechanical school. They went and looked around town and went shopping for his apartment during the day then we would all have dinner together. On Wednesday I went to Greentree (my school) and dropped of a letter for my teacher and a letter for my class with my picture attached to it telling them I would love to come read them a holiday story on Friday if they had time. Also, I bought some school t-shirts! Wednesday night we all went to dinner at Roadhouse because they were leaving the next day. It was such a good time with them being here- he may not be my real uncle and cousin but they might as well be family!
Thursday I spent the day doing some more unpacking then went to dentist- to have horrible news!! I need a root canal, deep cleaning, and a filling. Friday morning was early- my teacher, Ms. Parker called me and told me they would love for me to come to their Holiday Party which started at 2 so if I wanted to come a little before that it would be great- so I went on Friday afternoon and had such a good time with all the little kids! The classroom mom was there and I helped her set up while Ms. Parker read to the kids in the hallway. I took a picture of them all huddled around her outside but I cant put it online as you all know- I am super excited. I helped them open their sprinkles, decorate their cookies and open their kool-aides : ) Once that was done, I read them a great pop up book called Winter's Tale! Not only did I read it to my students but to ALL of their PARENTS!! It was really fun! After the Christmas party was over, I came home and packed to go to Katy. We all thought Ms. Knight was throwing a "Family Dinner" for Christmas but when I walked in the door this is what I saw...Once there for a while they new happy couple arrived! I cant believe they are engaged! They are super cute and I am super excited for both of them! I cant wait for my many phone calls from Carla (you know I cant wait to help). Saturday, I came home and mom and I went and got some Christmas shopping done because Jessica & Roy were here and wanted to do Christmas today so...we shopped while Jess & Roy & Dad went shopping. After we got home we did our Christmas cards and then opened our Christmas presents! YEAH!! I'll let the pictures explain the rest...
Pip & I were tired after such a long day of shopping and opening presents : )

Single Ladies

So I am obsessed with this song- it is such an upbeat song and puts you in such a good mood- then add to it a little girl doing the dance moves- hopefully it will bring you as much joy as it does me!

AMAZING

10 Rules for Being Human

Ten Rules for Being Human

  1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it's yours to keep for the entire period.
  2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, "life."
  3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately "work."
  4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.
  5. Learning lessons does not end. There's no part of life that doesn't contain its lessons. If you're alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.
  6. "There" is no better a place than "here." When your "there" has become a "here", you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here."
  7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
  8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
  9. Your answers lie within you. The answers to life's questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.
  10. You will forget all this.

How do you see it today!?

Home Again, Home Again

Growing up as we would turn onto our street mom would always sing...home again home again jiggty jig and that's what today was. I officially left College Station this morning. It was sad but by this morning I was all alone and tired of moving and was ready to just get out of there. Dwelling only was going to make it worse.
I came home and took a long nap...well tried until Mom woke me up with a teacher cookie. (It was a giant cookie in the shape of a pencil) My uncles brother and his son are coming tomorrow (His son just got a job and he got an apartment in Kingwood) so Mom was determined to get the majority of my stuff out from the living room and into a place upstairs before we had company. We worked the majority of the evening and my room started out looking pretty rough and like I had a long ways to go...granted I still have a long way to go but it has definite improvement. Mom isn't working tomorrow so we are going to do some Christmas shopping and some grocery shopping! I'm home now, the shelves are going to have to be full again...I swear my parents haven't been eating with me not here...that's gonna change. : )

It hasn't hit me yet that I am not going back to my home. I feel like I just am here on my Christmas break and will return come January...I'm sure it will hit me eventually...

My Last Few Days in College Station

The past few days have been extremely busy. Yesterday, Saturday, was fun. Justin and I spent the day cooking and packing. We made puppy chow, chocolate dipped peanuts, 48 cookies, and brownies for our Christmas adventure last night. We headed to Taylor and Eric's as everyone was getting ready and cooking chili and before we had even gotten in the house the puppy chow was already being devoured! We rounded everyone together so we could give the Knights their Christmas present from Carla & I. We think we did good. : ) After that we all devoured chili and desserts before piling into trucks and heading to Santas Wonderland! It was so much fun. I have gone every year since I have been in College and I am glad I got to go one last time as a college student with my favorite boy riding next to me and the cutest brother and sister gang, Grayson and Ella, in the back seat so excited to see the lights! : )The rest of the gang rode in the back of Justins truck. I love this picture of Carla waving at me from the back on the truck.

This morning came too soon and before I knew it my parents had arrived and the packing and moving began. We spent most of the day moving things and packing up the equi, truck and my explorer. Yet as the cars got full the house wasnt empty...sadly we had to take 4 truck loads across the street to put in the girls garage. However, Dad and I are planning on coming back this week or next week to get another load from the girls garage. As of right now Justin and I are sitting on the floor in my room watching my tv which is also on the floor. Tomorrow morning the carpets are getting cleaned and then I will be on my way home to attack the mess of unpacking and organizing all my things! I have a feeling it is going to take me as long as I live there to get organized again!!!

Winter Wonderland...Workin in an Elementary School

(to the tune of “Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland”)

Children scream, they won't lis-in'
When they go, we won't miss em',
In all of this pain, we try to stay sane,
Workin' in an element'ry school.

Christmas comes, they're excited,
Though our nerves, they've ignited,
They're off of the walls, they run in the halls,
Workin' in an element'ry school.

In the lunchroom we can hear them yellin'
And we know that they are really wound.
Someone hits, the other says, "I'm tellin'"
And that is when our heads begin to pound.

Pretty soon we'll be restin'
Cause our nerves, they've been testin'
We're happy it's clear It comes once a year
Christmas in an element'ry school!

Videos of Pip

So I learned how to upload a video and found two recent videos. The first one is Nala (Pip's baby sister) and him playing in my bed. so cute

The second video is Pip barking away a storm at himself in the mirror. I love it!

One by One

After the fun of the snow had worn off and we were all cold we all went to dinner together one last time (for real this time) and the Bunce twins came with us along with Kimberly's sisters and Jordan's old roommate. Granted we went to Fish Daddies which I am not a big fan of but it was fun. At the end of dinner I tried to toast to all of us but I started crying and couldn't continue : ( I have been blessed with a good group of friends all of which I will miss dearly. Elise, Jordan & Chelsea at dinner Me & Ashley Bunce Me & Megan Bunce The Whole Gang

Today has been spent with my favorite people trying to soak in as many memories as possible. I woke up and went across the street for the last time all six of us would be together as roommates. I got there as Lauren was leaving for the holidays. We all said bye and cried like we were never going to see each other again. After she left me, Kimbo and Jordan all sat on the couch like usual doing nothing. We discussed that we felt like we were on the Real World and slowly one by one we are all leaving...

SNOW!!!

Yesterday was such a fun day. I woke up and got on the road because the weather kept saying it was going to sleet and snow so I started home and got to Montgomery before it started snowing on me! I was so excited to just to see the little flurries which weren't sticking but just the fact of the snow was making me so happy!

When I got home it started snowing even harder and within two hours the snow had gone from barely sticking to falling hard and staying on the ground! It was so much fun! We played in the snow and took lots of pictures!!
After it stopped snowing it was all over the ground and Justin and I were outside moving cars and I got him with a big snowball! It was so much fun...until he pegged me in the back with an even bigger one! He warned me...but it was so much fun I didn't care!! I love the snow! Such a good time...For those of you who don't know this was my first experience with snow! I have seen the flurries but it has never stuck to the ground. When I was one we went to the mountains in California and I cried the whole time, but yesterday was my first time that I will remember. It was a wonderful first memory.

We are going to dinner with the Bunce's before they leave one last time. They are both going back to Virginia and then coming back in January but I wont be here... : (
