Thanksgiving Day

Thursday morning I got up and finished up the cooking before heading over to Taylor's for Thanksgiving Lunch!! We had so much food it was WONDERFUL! The day ended up being beautiful so we sat around outside for a lot of the time- watching the kids play and the men play washers! After eating and playing we opened our sibling gifts

I have so many more photos but it keeps telling me I am using all my photo space so that will have to do for now...if any of you know how to fix this problem let me know!

Graysons Five!!

I remember the first time I played with Grayson he played with my watch singing the ABC's on the floor of their old house, now he is FIVE! I can't believe how big he has gotten. He had a carnival themed birthday party. We arrived at the carnival and their was a blow up jumpie, goldfish throw, popcorn, cotton candy, pin the tail on the donkey, balloon pop and all sorts of fun for 5 year olds (and the jumpie proved to be fun for more than just the kids...ie- Justin & Kason)

Thankful

Today I am thankful for the man standing at the end of his row to check me out because the grocery store was not crowded. I had been putting off the grocery store because I didn't want to fight the crowds yet as I walked up to the checkers a young man said...You ready to check out? I can get you right over here. : ) oh the small things...now off to chop up all sorts of things and cook!

While my kids were doing their centers I was going around monitoring and a bunch of them went and saw Christmas Carol this weekend so they were all discussing Santa and I over hear one of my little girls dead serious say..."NO! Santa lives in Hollywood!" I laughed out loud.

1. Justin Trice- my husband (oh I still get giggly saying "my husband") who is my other half.

2. Pip- my first born child. Pip brings me happiness on days when the world is falling apart. Dogs have a way of knowing when you just need a little extra love. 3. House Hunting- As a child mom and I would drive around after we dropped Jessica off at school and would just look at houses for sale (even though we were perfectly happy in our house) we just did it for fun! Now as Justin and I look for a house, it is just as fun as it was when I was 4 and 5. 4. Seeing the light bulb go off when one of my first graders "gets it" for the first time.5. Decorating for Christmas- I can't wait to have a house and have a Christmas tree and decorations on the door, in the kitchen, outside EVERYWHERE!6. (just like Taylor- don't worry I won't judge) Seeing vacuum lines on the carpet- it really bothers me that the apartment carpet you can't see the lines after vacuuming- I LOVE VACUUMING!

7. Candy- yes, I frequently will stop at gas stations, walmart, etc. just to get some candy- I did say a piece of candy but that's a lie because it is normally more than one piece. Some of my favorites include, gummy bears (hard ones), skittles, 3 musketeer's, sour patch kids, hot tamales, milky ways, snickers, peanut butter cups, really almost anything : )

8. Getting flowers just because- not that it happens often but when it does I just love it!
9. Worship music on the way to work- it just sets the mood for the whole day

10. Holidays with the family- holidays in general just bring such happiness to me- I just love being together in the kitchen, everyone helping in some way or another, the girls singing and dancing together in the kitchen while the men are watching football- then all just sitting around after all of us stuffing our faces

Today I am Thankful For...

Time

So today one of my little boys kept telling me all day "MY ARMS HURT! MY ARMS HURT!" I told him he could go to the nurse if at recess they still hurt. So this child ended up having to practice inside with me during recess but I made sure he still had time to play so after practicing, I send him outside to play...shortly after he comes running back in the classroom..but Mrs. Knight you said I could go to the nurse if my arms still hurt. I figured if he was willing to give up all his recess because his arms hurt...he could go. So I told him to come in while I wrote him a pass. He came next to me and I am filling it out with name, date, time, etc. I get to time and he asks,
"What time is it?"
"12:15"
"How do you know?"
(in my head-teachable moment)"Well the little hand is pointing straight up to the 12 and the big hand is pointing to the 3...(go on to tell him about 3=15 minutes etc.)
"Well then what is the other hand?"
"Oh...the second hand"
"Mrs. Knight? You mean the third one?"

Prayers Needed

Today my grandma (dad's mom) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She is 89. The doctors say it is in the early stages and they are hoping to be able to do a mastectomy as long as some tests come back showing it has not spread. She will hear the results back by Friday, hopefully. Please say a prayer for her. She lives in Lake Charles alone. : ( My grandfather passed away in February of 2008 so this has got to be rough for her. God listens and will hear our prayers when we raise our voices to him.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Now I really am walking by faith even when I can NOT see.

Lauren Knight Photography

Well there are still 15 days left to vote...but Lauren Knight was winning by a ton so...I went ahead and ordered business cards that say Lauren Knight Photography! I am super excited. I also have my first shoot on Saturday! I am so excited. I am going to do my fellow teacher, her family and her two ADORABLE boys! I have also started my own photography blog as well as email!

I also was walking Pip and talking to the regular dog walkers around the apartment and got two more people interested in me taking their family photos for Christmas cards, etc. so I gave them my email and we are going to set that up as well! I think I have found my hobby...which hopefully will turn into something very successful!

Photography

Being that I am at home again today due to the fact I still had a fever and still have no voice but am feeling better I have vacuumed the whole apartment, ran the dishwasher and am now doing laundry-however, I have been blog stalking people and my passion for photography just overflows! My dad always had the good nice camera growing up (even if it was old) and I had my first nice "big" camera at age 15 and took photography classes with my mom. Now that Justin and I have purchased a Cannon 50D and I see so many photography blogs- I just want to be a photographer- more than anything. Before I came to college I told my dad I wanted to major in Photography- he told me he wouldn't pay for a major that couldn't pay for itself. : ) Granted I love being a teacher and there is a new adventure everyday but I LOVE photography! Just love love love it! So if you wanna do a photo shoot let me know! : ) Whenever, wherever! Justin is out of town and I will be very bored this weekend! ; ) Maybe last weekend lit my fire...we (Ragan & I) took photos on campus and some of them turned out pretty neat (granted I had pretty models) Granted, none of them are AMAZING- but I am just beginning : )

Sick

One of the many joys of being a first grade teacher is that little 6 and 7 year olds don't know how to cover their mouths when they cough....hence the reason I am at home today with a fever, headache, NO VOICE, and the worst sore throat ever! I went to the doctor after school yesterday and she put me on a Z-pack but this morning I woke up and can NOT talk and feel like poop! I haven't moved out of bed besides to take Pip out. But I love z-pack so hopefully by tonight once I take my second dose I will be feeling better. I hate to miss school. When I go back tomorrow it is like someone else has been running my room, my kids are all off, my plans are all messed up and my little babies missed me and as much as I want to pull out my hair some days, I miss them too! oh and Justin is gone again : * (

Saturday before the game Brad calls me over to the stroller to tell me he has a present for me! I had no idea and was thrilled when I saw a schoolhouse with my name on it!!
