Two Months Old

Ascher
2 months old
May 29, 2012

Ascher's Stats
Weight: 9 pounds 9 ounces at his two month check up- he is in the 14%. Doctor said we are both little people so he doesn't expect him to be a big ol' baby!

Height: not sure- he is pretty long though

Clothing size: 0-3 months in most, NB in Circo, 3 months in Carters (Carters is my favorite-it fits the best)

Diaper Size: 1

Eats: every 3-4 hours during the day. He is a champ. He nurses on both sides then has a 2 ounce bottle. I had a rough time but Ascher wasn't getting enough just nursing so I had to start supplementing with formula. At first just after some feedings but now I have to give him a 2 ounce formula bottle after each feeding. I had to realize his happiness and contentment was more important than just nursing. It was really upsetting but I am ok now.

Sleeping patterns: He is really good at sleeping. He goes to sleep at 11 each night and sleeps until 6 am. Glorious! If he goes to sleep before his last feeding at 10 he wakes up at 3 am. Those nights aren't as fun but usually he will eat at 8:30 and then again at 10. He also takes a nap every day around 4. Sometimes he sleeps 4-5 sometimes only 30 minutes but around 4 every day he is conked out. Also, he wakes up at 6 eats then goes back to sleep till 8:30 some days or 10 some days! I am so thankful for such a good sleeper.

Routine: well everyday is a little different but most days he eats at 6 goes back to sleep till 8:30 then we get up and eat breakfast and talk to each other. Some days he will go back to sleep around 9:30 and sleep for an hour. Then we eat again. Then we change diapers, onesie, play. Some days we have play dates with my friends and some days we just hang out around the house.  We eat some more and change some more diapers.

Catch Up- Kingwood & Meeting Nana

So I can't believe it is almost July. Where has the time gone?!!? I feel like it was just March and I was huge and pregnant!! So far the month of June has been full of adventures! A lot of these adventures deserve a post all of their own but for now...

I went to Kingwood for a week while Justin was at class for work. During my stay in Kingwood we hung out, baked, went to Target, I got my hair cut & highlighted (you can hardly even see the highlights- I think she took natural looking a little too literal). It was our first time away from the house. He did great.

After our time in Kingwood, we drove Downtown to meet Nana, Ascher's great-grandma. I drove to Ragan's and we went and ate Whataburger before going to Nana's. She wasn't able to come to Ascher's dedication so she gave him his present while we were there.

After meeting with Nana, I met Chelsea for dinner at Five Guys. It was so nice to be able to catch up and just hang out. We talked about how we wished we still lived in our house together and could just sit in our rooms and talk for hours. Those were the days. I love how I still have my college friends as my best friends. After dinner, I drove to the hotel where Ascher and I got spend the night with Daddy. Ascher is so spoiled. His first night in a hotel and it is a Hilton- none the less. Spoiled.

He slept like a champ until we started our drive home- then he decided I needed to know his lungs work. He cried...or should I say scream for 2 hours!!! I stopped three times before he finally went to sleep. I was exhausted by the time we got home just from listening to him scream. It broke my heart but what could I do?!

More to come but that's all I have time for now...

Catch Up- Month of May

Well I keep telling myself I will find time to blog but I have quickly learned the saying, "A mothers work is never done" is all too true!! However, today I put him in his bouncer and turned on the baby channel. It seems to have captivated him and I figured I cleaned bottles, picked up family room and have dinner de-thawing I have a minute I can try to play catch up in the form of pictures & a few words!

The month of May consisted of:

a lot of hanging out at home

visitors & friends

went to the pool- didn't get in other than his feet- no swim suit fits a 2 month old- he preferred to be on his towel laying in the heat

So there you have the month of May-- I am determined to get better because I hate that I already have missed so much and not written down so much. I must be better.

Mothers Day

I had such a wonderful first Mother's Day. I feel very loved and am so happy to be a mommy. We got up and started getting ready. We were going to Lake Conroe for the day. I was getting stuff together and came back into the family room to see this..
I teared up a little. To see my little man sitting there with a card that said, "Mommy" and it was for me! I am his Mommy! CRAZY! Plus I was so excited. Justin has never purchased a card for me let alone write something inside!! I had told him for Mother's Day I wanted a card with sweet words written! He nailed it on the head! However, I read the card and he says Ascher, give mommy her present. I turned around and Ascher was holding a little square box! WHAT! Totally surprised! I opened it and saw diamond studs! WHAT! Again, totally surprised! I am so in love! After opening my present we loaded up the car after having to give Ascher a bath because he blew out his diaper so bad. : ) We were on our way. We got to lake conroe and went to eat a mothers day brunch at the club. It was so nice! The weather was beautiful, we sat on the patio and ate our little hearts out. After brunch we went back to the house were we spent the day playing in the pool, on the jetskis, boats and just spending time together.
