The 3rd week in October Justin had class on the other side of town (which is close to where my parents live) so after Ascher got out of school on Wednesday we drove over to my parents and spent some time over there. On Thursday, Mom and I decided we would take the kids to the local pumpkin patch put on by one of the churches. It was a lot of fun and I am glad we went.

They had a cool little kid section that had a water pump. At first we couldn't get it flowing but with a little muscle we were pumping water!

Picture Day at PreSchool
The first week in October was picture day for preschool. Ascher let me fix his hair and looked so handsome. I even got him ready in time that we went on the porch and took some pictures before I took him to school.
And thank goodness I took these before we left for school because he freaked out at school witht the cameras and wouldn't let them take his picture. Therefore we have no school picture so I am so happy that I was able to get these on the front porch.

Brynn's Stats
Weight: 11 lbs 10 oz (10%)
Height: 25.5 inches (85%)
Head: 15 inch
Clothing size: 0-3 months, still a few
newborn outfits and a few 3-6 (those were huge but I was determined she was gonna
wear her holiday clothes. Its funny cause I got three fall onesies from a girl in MOPS that are all
newborn and she still fits in them better than the 3-6 ones I have. I guess
when I started calling her little bitty I wasn’t far off : )
Diaper Size: size 1 – needs size 2 at night but using up the rest of the box of
size 1 first
Eats: Still eating every 3 hours. She is still EBF other than a bottle at night time before bed. She is still very tiny so the doctor suggested adding in a bottle if I feel like she is being super fussy. So on some days (like the days I don't eat well or drink enough water) that 3 pm feeding she will also get a 2 ounce bottle after I nurse. Most days though she is good with just me. It is so different than with Ascher. Ascher would nurse and then scream like he was still starving and would get a 4 ounce bottle every time I fed him. She is content for 3 hours after just the boob. : ) I think it is because I am so much more relax about it. If she needs a bottle, then so be it. If she gets enough from me, great. I think because I have that attitude it has helped.
Sleeping patterns:
We had a total sleep regression this month. It is a real thing. She
dropped her last feeding before bed. She was eating at 7ish then again at 10 or
10:30, well she started going to sleep at 8 and not waking back up until 2 am.
Then again at 5. I am not a fan. I need my sleep and the fact that she only
woke up once during the night from a very early age spoiled me. She had a rough
time this month sleeping. During the day she fights sleep really bad. She
screams and will do anything not to take a nap. Even once she falls asleep she
only sleeps for 20 minutes…TOPS!
However,
towards the end of the month I realized that if I am better about taking her
aside and putting her to sleep she will take a better nap. In the beginning she
was so little she would just sleep where ever- now I have to look at clock and
say ooo time for nap.
Routine:
She has put herself on the eat, play, sleep routine. I didn’t push it or
anything- that’s just how she rolls. She eats every 3 hours then has awake time
where we play on her mat, play with Ascher, run errands, etc. After about an
hour and half from feeding her she gets real fussy. She fights sleeping but
eventually takes a nap, however if you dare stop moving in the car or put her
down those eyes pop open and the fussing continues because she really is still
tired but doesn’t want to miss a thing. It drives me nuts but I love that she
wants to be close to me at the same time.
Favorites & Little Facts:
Daddy went
to Oklahoma for a week
Went to
Kingwood
Went to fall
play date with a bunch of little babies (normally we hang out with kids Aschers
age since you are too small to care- it was nice hanging out with babies &
moms of little babies)
We went and
visited Hadley for her 2nd birthday party & got to have
Halloween with her.
I dressed you
in a lot of seasonal cute outfits. : )
We hung out
on blankets in backyard. I don’t know why but I love a baby on a blanket in
green grass on a pretty afternoon.
Firsts:
Rolled from back to front
Rolled from front to back
Started using Merlin Magic sleep suit—she is
considering to be sleeping thru the night because she is sleeping 6 hours…however
to me, waking up between 2-3 am every night is not a full nights sleep. Sleep
suit is helping to keep her asleep until 6 hours instead of waking up from
reflexes.
Sitting up much better in frog chair &
bumbo

Brynn's Stats
Weight: 10 lbs 3 oz (on scale
at home)
Height: 22 inches
Clothing size: newborn in some brands but
mostly 0-3 months- and its mostly still a little big
Diaper Size: size 1
Eats: She is still eating great. She has gone back to eating every 3 hours.
It is very rare for her to go 4 but we have a pretty good schedule going so 3
hours isn’t too bad…granted she spoiled me by going 4 before. She has a bottle
once or twice a week so she doesn’t refuse it once I stop BFing. Plus I’m
really chill about if we are out somewhere or I haven’t drunk enough water I’ll
give her an extra 2 ounces just to make sure (however I try to always drink
enough so this has only happened a few times)
