9-10-11

This past weekend I drove home to witness one of my longest friends get married and a sweet little girls 1st birthday party. Friday I drove home and chilled with my parents, ate some yummy Carrabba's, and just watched some tv. Saturday mom made some french toast and the three of us went outside and ate on the patio and enjoyed the cool weather. J had to be the career fair rep so he didn't get to come (He was NOT happy on Saturday). We got ready and headed to buy Ava's birthday present and check out Garden Ridge. We got home after awhile and I got ready for the wedding. Here are some photos from the wedding. I didn't bring my big camera, just my mom's little point and shoot so they aren't the best photos.

Sunday I slept in and got up and went to see Elissa's new house. It is BEAUTIFUL!! I feel like just yesterday we went and looked at the lot and now there is a house on it! It looks great!!

After visiting with them for awhile I headed to Ava's first birthday party. I didn't take any pictures- (I know can you believe it?) As soon as I got there I got put to work with the video camera so I videoed but no pictures. I am going to wait for Colleen/Pamela to post some photos and I'll still them. Ava was absolutely precious. Colleen had her dressed in a cute tutu and they worked so hard on all the decor and food. It was WONDERFUL! I have always said it and I'll say it again- those girls know how to throw a party/shower! They are great!! Happy Birthday Ava Rose!!!

Overall it was a GREAT weekend. Glad I got to see so many of my friends the past two weekends!!

Labor Day Weekend

I am so behind! Labor Day weekend we had a lot of fun. 


Friday night one of my best friends from college came down from dental school and spent the night. Justin went and got us Laynes and we just chilled watching tv before turning in for the night. We have definitely gotten too old for our college bed time. 


Saturday morning Megan B & I got up and got ready for our day. We went and got pedicures before meeting Justin and his best friend and wife, Daniel & Megan (the ones we went to Mexico with) for lunch. Daniel & Megan had come in for the opening football game against SMU on Sunday. We went and ate at Fuzzy's Taco Shop- always delish. After we got back to the house we caught up a little before Megan B & I got on the road to our girls weekend in Lake Conroe. 


If you have read my blog or know me- you know I have 5 best friends from college- "NANNNY" - Lauren, Chelsea, Jordan, Megan, Lauren (me), and Kimberly. However, since college we have all moved to different places. Lauren & Megan are in Dental School in Dallas, Chelsea & Kimberly work in Houston, Jordan works in Florida and we live in College Station so it is rare for us all to be together but we make an effort to have a girls weekend once a year (at least)- considering we will all be together again sometime in November for a Aggie football game. : ) 


We arrived at Lake Conroe @ Jordan's lake house and the rest of the weekend could not have been more perfect. Saturday we sat around and caught up while waiting for everyone to arrive. The lake is super low but we sat on the porch and by the pool. Sunday we got up and everyone had mimosas and orange rolls while flipping through bridal magazines planning all their weddings! : ) I stayed in my pj's all day long. It was wonderful. Just like college again. 


The day was over before we knew it and we had all stayed up way longer than we usually do doing nothing but reading magazines, watching movies, sitting on the porch, just being together. Monday morning arrived and we got up and Kimberly made us some awesome scrambled eggs with everything in them and we picked up, got dressed, went to the dock and took some photos and then were on our way home- our girls weekend complete. It was a definite success. 


Jordans dad wrote her an email after we left saying how lucky we are that we have these friendships and that we make an effort to keep them growing and when we look back in ten years we will be even more thankful we made lasting friendships. I am so thankful for these girls. They are some of my most sturdy rocks to lean on.

Made By Day By 7:30am

So the teachers parking lot is in the back of the school next to where the buses drop off. I always seem to arrive when the buses are unloading and see familiar faces, mostly groggy faces, getting out of the bus. 


This morning a little girl who was in the library yesterday (1st grader) said to me... "Mrs Knight...you remind me of my step sisters teacher that she had...her name was Mrs. Knight too. She worked at Sul Ross!" I about cried. I said "THATS ME!" I know small story- no big deal but to have a child's step sister remember you two years later made me smile. I told her to tell her hello! (She has since moved to Minnesota to live with her dad). 


Made my heart smile. 


Also, this morning I randomly checked my google reader before kids start coming to the library and came across The Fisher Family. I read her blog all the time and I love it but todays hit home. I printed it and hung it in my office.

Where Have I Been?

I feel like I have been a very bad blogger lately. I promise I'll be better soon. And then you will all wish I would go back to being a bad blogger. : ) 


Awwww...I am in the library and one of the older men teachers just cut through and told me that he meant this is the most sincere way. He liked my green dress the other day, and my red dress today and he realized it wasn't the clothes that he liked- he thought I was a very pretty young lady. Sweet little man. : ) 


Anyways- I have been go go go. 
**School has started back and I have been exhausted every day when I get home. 
**Justin has been home so much more and I am TOTALLY loving that! 
**We have watched my next door neighbors dog. 
**We are searching for a night stand for my side of the bed.
** We are also searching for a new rug for the living room. The one we have has seen better days. 
** We have eaten dinners with the Cokers.


and yesterday best of all...
...we welcomed a new nephew to love.

the picture on my phone has disappeared so I will add a picture of the sweet little boy when I get another one. This is the third boy for Cambrey & Joe! God is so good and has blessed them tremendously! I am so happy to add another little one to love.

Busy

I have been super busy lately. So I will  do this in list form because everyone loves a good list.

1. We have been on the road a lot. We went to Kason & Carla's last Saturday for the day. Then went and spent the night with my parents and grandma. Then a few days later we went to visit to Conroe to see Mr. & Mrs. Knight before Mrs. Knight left for Virginia to help welcome our new niece/nephew. We have been on the road!!!




2. I took 8 girls senior volleyball photos last Sunday. I am happy with the way they turned out. Here is one of my favorites: (the quality got downgraded a lot because I am out of space on picasa)


3.  I had my first day of school this past Friday. It was basically a get to know each other day since its a new school everyone is new to each other. Which has its positives and negatives. But overall- it was a wonderful day. And I felt so official in my polo. : ) 


4. Pip has been obsessed with sleeping ON my pillow the second I get off it.


5. This is currently the background on my computer- such words to live by. (minus the creepy eye looking flowery thing)


6. Here is a look at my empty office and what I will look out at. : ) I'll have to post the after once I get some of my stuff up and it looks like my area 


7. Yesterday morning I took some baby photos for her upcoming baptism. 


8. This morning we went to church, came home, made spaghetti, Justin mowed the lawn, I did some laundry, went and got a snow cone, and now I'm about to go take some maternity photos!! Woo Woo!!! 

9. Tomorrow is our first "real" day of school. We will actually have meetings all day and be learning and preparing for the kiddos to come back.
