You're the Best Song

*written on March 29, 2013*

Ascher-
Today you are one year old. 365 days. I don’t even know what to say. Everyone in the blogging world write little letters to their babies each month- I don’t even know what to write for your 12 month birthday!
less than a minute old

I can’t believe you have been on earth for 365 days! You have blessed us more than you know. Yes, I look back and think oh goodness- how did I ever get through some days but I wouldn’t have traded a single one for anything in this world. So since I can't put into words how I feel and how my heart could explode thinking about you I decided to share a song I recently heard. I boo-hooed as I listened to it so I wanted to share. Im thinking mother-son dance at his wedding??? ; )

Bethany Dillon- You’re the Best Song
Good morning
You and the sun are up before I'm ready
But ready or not, you need me
So here I am

I'm learning that in the long hard days
There is beauty
Do you know my favorite place to see it
It's when I look at you

And though I'm tired now
You're worth every sleepless night
You're worth it all, cause I know...

[CHORUS]
You're the best song I'll ever write
And we're humming and dancing through the years together
You're the best song I'll ever write
And I pray you'll hear Jesus in it when you're older

[VERSE]
I remember when you were just a heartbeat that I heard
and now our eyes meet
Forever is not enough to love you

Ooohhh...

[BRIDGE]
Every prayer for you is like a seed in the ground
Every tear I cry is like rain
And in its due season
I pray a harvest will be found
Your heart and mouth confessing Jesus' name
Your heart and mouth confessing Jesus' name

Happy Birthday Ascher Hardy Knight!
Mommy & Daddy love you infinity times infinity!

How did that sweet little infant turn into my sweet big bubby!?!

Smash Cake & 12 Month Photos

Warning: Super long with LOTS of photos : )

We put the smash cake together we got ready to go up to A&M campus and take pictures of Ascher smashing his cake and a few pictures of just him in Spence park for his 12 month photos.  (This all went down a week or so before his birthday).
We got up to campus and took some pictures of him in his little outfit and he was such a good sport- all proud of himself walking around the park. Not 100% sure with the belly pushed out and the arms out for balance- but proud none the less.

Then we moved over to a big tree and did some cute photos with ONE blocks.

We then decided it was getting late so we should do his smash cake before he was done with this whole situation. The only problem with this plan is that it was 53 degrees outside in the sun & we were in the shade with a breeze. Well…poor little Ascher we took off his clothes and left him in his diaper and put a giant cupcake in front of him that he wanted nothing to do with. It was so sad. He was shivering and finally Justin was like, “Lauren, he is turning blue are you done!?” Poor bubby- he was NOT a fan. But I got some cute photos. : )

A Random Sunday

Okay I've just got to type this out so I know what I need to go back and blog about in the next few days.

Ascher 12 month
Ascher smash cake & 12 month photos in Spence Park on A&M campus
Happy Birthday Ascher
Ascher's Birthday Party
Easter
His 4x4 Truck (like daddy) & Radio Flyer
1 year well visit, Playdates, MOPS & Bible Study
Bluebonnet photos

but for today I wanted to give you a glimpse of our day- a random Sunday.

This morning we met Kim & Andrew at church then grabbed Dickies on the way home. Ascher chowed down on some chopped beef BBQ. Delicious! After his nap, we played with the balloons, puzzles and went outside to swing. Then I decided we should go out front and enjoy the weather while its not 200 degrees outside because before we know it- it will be.

So the truck came out...

and he pushed it around-

then saw Mom with the camera and said Hi-

but then got back to pushing

but thought he might need a hug from Dad

after a quick hug- back to pushing...

but before long got tired of that and plopped down.

Hmmm it must be snack time cause that grass sure does taste yummy...

If you can't tell by that little red face- it was getting time to come inside and get some water, snack & take a nap

and of course Pip sat on the couch and waited patiently for us to come inside & was thrilled when we came inside- can't you tell? (thats a yawn)

After nap time, Kim & Andrew stopped by to check our ac. Andrew is a great handy man and figured out something is wrong with our ac. : ( He has a friend who is gonna come fix it tomorrow. The boys played and its so cute to watch them together. I love watching Ascher have a friend! (It doesn't hurt the parents are friends too- I just love it). We had dinner and played some more before bed time routine with Ascher. Now we are watching the Academy of Country Music Awards.

So there you have it- a random Sunday in our house. It was perfect. Granted- if I could have snuck a nap in there then it would have been a real perfect Sunday. ; )
