Quick Update

1. Shady Oaks is finished! It is beautiful! Better than I could have imagined (considering the last time I saw it, it wasn't finished).
2. We have a photographer and a videographer! 4 Sale By Photo is doing it!! We booked them tonight! I am super excited!

However, regardless of our pictures, our food, our location, the people, the favors, the dress, the tux, and everything else...in the end it will be the day I become Justin's wife and that is all the matters.

3.5 months to go....

Bluebonnet Books 2009-2010

**Update** I read another one today. What to do about Alice. It was cute. It was about Theodore Roosevelt daughter. It was another good one. It was the first one I have read that was a fiction picture book I enjoyed and would read again. One of the things it said, I believe a lot of fathers feel like this about their daughters. It is said that Theodore said, "I can be the President of the United States and control Alice, but simply can NOT do both!"

Today I started something for my future classroom. Growing up I remember LOVING the bluebonnet books and reading all of them! So today I decided I would read the 2009-2010 Bluebonnet List before I have my own class that way I can talk about the books with the kids and read some of them with the kids. So today I went and got a public library card and checked out 4 bluebonnet books. I have already finished 3 of them. I read:
Pale Male: Citizen Hawk of New York City (not very good- story was ok pictures werent that great), Frogs This one was great- its a non-fiction with real photos and information on all different types of frogs, I can see little boys LOVING this book!!!and lastly I read Maybelle in the Soup-this book was about a cockroach and her friend the flea who want to eat people food on a plate not on the floor as left overs. It was cute but Frogs was my favorite. I also checked out The Penderwicks on Gardam Street but it is a longer chapter book so it might take me a day or two.

Anyways- I am super excited and cant wait to give you an update on the other books I have read. So far, Frogs was my favorite by far. VERY INTERESTING and the PICTURES WERE GREAT! *can definetly see Cannon, Gunnar, Grayson, Adam & Zach loving this one*

You're Invited!

Tonight I have been playing with my invitations! This is no where near the finished product I was just playing around trying to figure out how to print on them, how to put them together, you know the tedious stuff that everyone else thinks is a pain in the butt but to a bride its like opening presents! : ) So..here is the sample (Once again, the font will be different, the wording is different, etc. I was just playing- also my photos are being odd and wont rotate- sorry)Also, I took one photo of the actual invitation but since it has personal info and info about where it is and time and etc. I figured I should be safe and not post that so if you would like to see what they are looking like...email me and I will send it too you! : )

My Friends

Before I got sick, I was able to spend a very nice dinner with my best friends. I didn't take any pictures with my camera but I stole some of these from Jordan- We may all be in separate places but put us together for 2 minutes and its like we never left each other. I am sad that I will never live in the same place as any of them again!

Embossing Queens

Yesterday was a very busy day. I am on the road to recovery and basically am back to normal minus my sinus but you can still function for the most part with a runny nose and headache. So...I got up and Dad and I went and took my car to get it's oil changed then I came home and loaded up on medicine so that by the afternoon my headache would be gone and I would be able to get a lot of stuff done. I layed back down until noonish then Mom and I got ready and were off shopping! We first went to Dillards and they had NO wedding shoes. It was rather disappointing. I knew exactly what I wanted though so that makes it a little more difficult. I didn't want to wear heals and knew my back and feet would be killing me by the end of the night if I chose to wear heals- so I originally thought I wanted ballet slippers but with it being summer I figured sandals would be better and I found the perfect pair! After no success at Dillards, we left and headed over to DSW where I found them. After we got the shoes we still had a few minutes to waste before we headed downtown to meet a photographer so we ran into Michaels and picked up the candy scoops for the candy bar and the bags that the guest will use to place their candy in. I got 4 sets of white, orange and red bags. On the red and orange bags I will be embossing a stamp that says, "We love, because he loved us first. 1st John 4:19" And on the white bags I am going to stencil a pretty K on them in orange and red paint : ) Now I just need to go get the jars for the candy and the candy.

Also, mom had found really cute bubbles for when we leave but they were like $8 for 36 of them. Well I went to Wal-Mart looking for candy scoops (which they didn't have) and found 100 bubbles for $15 and they look just like the ones from Michaels!!! I was super excited about the deal I had found! They are little test tubes of bubbles with a love knot on the top. I bought some red and orange ribbon and today I am going to start tying the ribbon to the knots. : ) I am so excited. We got so much done. It may have just been the little things like candy scoops and wedding shoes but they are important too! I will take some pictures later today and post them.

After DSW & Michaels, we headed to the photographer. I really liked him and he seemed good but I still am not sold. He seemed very traditional, and I am anything but traditional. Granted by the time we got to the photographer I wasn't feeling very well, so I am still searching...

*Update* Mom and I have been embossing the bags and they are turning out super cute. We have finished half of the orange and half of the red. I am in still in search of a K stencil, so the white ones have yet to be started. However, here is how the others are coming along...

Photo for Wedding

I want something like this for our wedding. Instead of just doing a giant photo of me, have a photo frame with a bible verse and one of our engagement photos. I would want our photo bigger and just the bible verse on the matting. but I like this idea.

Sick as a Dog

This weekend was so much fun...well it would have been if I hadn't gotten so sick. Friday night I went to the Cheesecake Factory with the girls. It was good to see everyone. It is so weird to not be with the girls every day. Saturday, however, I woke up and felt awful. I stayed in bed all day while the girls went and got their nails done, ate lunch, saw a movie, etc. Finally around 5ish I made myself get up and drive home. I came home and was rather miserable. Sunday, I stayed in bed all day. I woke up and took some Nyquil then went back to bed-hoping that sleeping all day Saturday and Sunday I would be ok by this morning...not so much. I woke up and tried to put my contacts in and felt like I was going to pass out. I came downstairs to tell mom and ended up throwing up every where. I made it too the couch and didn't move from 7:30am-6pm. I still feel absolutely awful and still have a fever of 102.9!! Hopefully I will be better by tomorrow, even if I am not I will be at school bright and early...and then off to the doctor.

the man of my dreams

Today was so much fun. Though Justin didnt want to get into it and threw quite a hissy fit over taking pictures he lightened up and had fun with us by the end of it. We took so many pictures and we had so much fun! I loved it and loved being able to spend all day with J and him have to like me and not get away from me : ) He is leaving for Corpus tomorrow morning so this weekend was our last time together--- the next time we will be together will be a month before the wedding. Granted we will see each other a few times over the next few months but things will be different with him in school from 8-5 and me doing Student Teaching. Anyways, I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams. I uploaded all of the pictures onto picasa. However, none of them are edited and every single one we took is on there. Mrs. Knight is going to play around with photo shop and color effects and put them on Snapfish, but I was impatient and couldnt wait. : ) So if you would like to see the raw cut of the photos here is the website....
here are a few of my favorites....
And of course...this one was one of everyones favorite....

And so it is

I have finally talked to everyone in my bridal party. It was very difficult for me and putting it off wasn't the smartest thing I have ever done. My bridal party is as follows:

Jessica is my matron honor. Jessica is my little mommy and is my one and only sister. I can not imagine my life without her. She has given me advice my whole life (whether I wanted it or not). I would not want anyone other than Jessica to stand next to me as I marry the man I love.Elissa is my maid of honor. I have grown up with Elissa and cant imagine my life without her. We are two days apart and just like our sisters, Erin and Jessica, Elissa and I are cousernal twins. Elissa and I can talk about anything and know that we will love each other just the same. Some of my favorite memories with Elissa is our many Christmas plays or our umbrella homes or how could I forget our rocks for sale! Elissa and I have way to many memories to write or to even grasp our friendship. We are family but above that we are best friends.Next we have my bridesmaids- my college friends- my college life would have been non-existent without them- and really this wedding wouldn't even be happening without one of them. I have 3 more bridesmaids and 4 in my house party. My house party, however, is just like a bridesmaid to me. I love every single girl more than life and don't know what I would do without any of them.First we have Lauren- she was the first person I met when I started Rush in 2005. We sat next to each other and my big mouth was already trash talking different sororities. I knew from the beginning though that we would have the same taste- she was way to cute to want a bad sorority : ) As time progressed we lived in the sorority house together and I convinced her to try out for Aggie Angels with me. We both loved basketball and thought this would be so much fun! So we did Aggie Angels together and became closer than ever. Lauren is such a kind hearted person and such a good friend. We have had many memories and I am sure as she continues school in Dallas to become a dentist and I become a wife and teacher we will have many more wonderful memories! (Sorry Lauren- I just had to add the first picture)Next we have Megan- I cant remember the first time I met her but I cant remember life without her. Megan and I also became friends during our time in the sorority house. But my favorite memories of Megan and I were this past summer while everyone was away on their fun summers and we were stuck in summer school. We spent every moment together. I will always cherish that summer and all of our times together. Next we have Kimberly, AKA- K-Slice. Kimberly has been there through thick and thin and is probably the only one I can honestly say I have never fought with. Kimberly puts everyone before herself. Kimberly has been there for me and listened to me cry, let me cuddle with her and sometimes she even let me eat in her bed. And if you know slice, you know that doesn't happen! Kimberly has been the one to send me 8 million emails a day discussing wedding plans and giving me ideas. She is the only one who has put up with me talking wedding 24/7. Life just wouldn't be the same without K-Slice!Next we have Jordan. I first met Jordan through Chelsea. My first memory of us is talking about her new puppy and I was so jealous. Little did I know, Max would be such a large part of my life, or for that matter, Jordan would be. Jordan didn't live in the sorority house and at first she didn't live on our street but that doesn't mean Jordan wasn't always with us! After our Junior Year she turned 21 and took us all to Disney World and it was the most fun I have ever had on a vacation!Senior year she moved onto our street and things were never the same. She is currently living in Florida and life without her is sooo...quiet. : ) Hopefully I will see her soon.Next we have Chelsea- This wedding wouldn't even be happening without Chelsea. I first met Chelsea when we moved into the sorority house. I decided I wanted to be friends with her because she was soo pretty getting ready in our bathroom. Our whole sophomore year we were inseparable. She came with me to all of Justin and I first dates. I couldn't go alone. I needed her. Junior year we moved into our house and had so much fun living together for the rest of our college career. We have so many memories in that house it is crazy to think about!! Granted by the end we fought and loved each other like sisters, because that is what we became. We are sisters. I had to put up the second picture because that is the night of Ragan and Brads Graduation Party! : ) Lastly but certainly not least, we have Pamela and Colleen. Little did I know that a little over a year ago I would meet these two girls who would make such a difference in my life. I met Colleen through one of our education classes and by the end of the semester I had become a bridesmaid in her wedding. Pamela moved here shortly and my rude and witty comments made us become friends almost immediately. I wouldn't have little Pip without Colleen and Pamela. They both have done so much for me and I love them both more than words!
Hopefully the next 6 months will fly by and the wedding will be here before we all know it! I can hardly wait!! All I do every day is school all day, come home and try to do wedding stuff then repeat. YEAH! WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!
