Week 24
March 31 , 2014
size of baby: grapefruit! (getting bigger!!), 11.8 inches, 1.3 pounds
total weight gain/loss: doctor apt this week & according to their scale I'm +3! Woohoo for finally gaining weight. He said he would like me to start eating like a cow and gain at least 10 more pounds before delivery. I think I can handle that.
maternity clothes: yup. Finally got a cute pair of shorts that fit good and I don't look like a whale. Maternity clothes are so fickle. I am a small not in maternity but smalls in maternity eat my lunch and I have to get all XS.
gender: It's a GIRL! Had ultrasound this week and confirmed once again that it is indeed a little princess growing inside!
movement: Lots & Lots of movement! She is quite the tumbler. I asked Justin, do you think she is doing dance? or gymnastics? She also moves in response to Justins voice. When he gets home and starts talking she will move or at night when we are getting ready for bed Justin will put his hands on my tummy (granted they are always freezing) and tell her goodnight and she kicks him in response. So sweet...a daddy daughter bond before she is even out of the womb!
sleep: I don't know what I would do without my snoggle. I have been using it since like week 13 but the bigger I get the more I LOVE it. I was pretty tired this week so I slept like a rock just can't go back to sleep once I wake up to pee (thankfully its normally close to 6 when I have to go so it isn't too bad- I just lay there and rest)
cravings: ice, water, smoothies, sweets
what I miss: getting out of bed easily & being able to eat spicy without bending over and feeling like I'm on fire (heartburn)
symptoms: heartburn, back pain, moody when hungry, at night time my stomach is so tight its so uncomfortable - I keep telling myself it is because she is breached so she is laying side to side so by the end of the day my sides are stretched out and in pain! They are sooooo tight! I can hardly wait to lay down at the end of the day. My biggest complaint this week has been my back hurting though. Between lifting Ascher and just plain ol' pregnancy pain- yikes. The back has been feeling it.
thoughts:
- Justin painted the nursery this weekend! We went with gray. I LOVE IT! As soon as he finishes touching up the top we are gonna put the crib together.
- I am pretty sure I have picked out her bedding. Now just to order it. I can't find a white dresser I love anywhere. Who knew dressers were ridiculously expensive!?! I don't want a changing table/dresser like Ascher has. I want a full length dresser (like 71 inches not 50 inches).
- I also decided on a double stroller. One of my friends was selling hers but it was super heavy and you had to take it completely apart to put it in the car so I've gone back to my original plan but with some calculating I think I've figured out how to save over $100 on it.
- I had a doctor appointment this past Thursday. I just adore my doctors office. They are fabulous. It makes driving an hour and a half to see them not so bad. I asked all my questions like usual and then asked him to show me on the ultrasound I had how it was a girl (Justin and I couldnt see it) well he is fabulous and said well let me finish up with the girl in room one and then we will get another ultrasound and make sure 100% she is a girl. So we moved over to room one and sure enough she was sitting better than last ultrasound and this time you could see everything. She is definitely a girl!! He finished checking and I said wait can we look at her face!? I feel like we are always checking out her parts but never her face so he scrolled up and was like oh she is in a perfect position for a 3D picture! So he switched it over to 3D for me and she is BEAUTIFUL!! Ascher never really gave us a good view on his 3D ultrasound. I was so excited!!! He said sometimes at 24 weeks they are too bony and don't look like a very pretty baby but that she looked fabulous!!
