*6 month professional photos*

The first weekend in October we took Ascher to get his studio photos taken. I have a wonderful camera and take a great photo now and then but I still want Ascher to have studio photos of his first year. So we went when he was three months and now again for his six months. I plan on going again for nine months and twelve months. Then I’ll just do his yearly shots (as long as he will let me) : ) Here are some of my favorites.

I love his face on this one.

He is so different from his 3 month photo shoot. At his 3 month photos he was still kinda a blob. He was more alert and I thought at the time he was HUGE and moving so much- HA! He cooperated way better at 3 months then 6 months. He now is so aware of what is happening and wasn’t too keen on posing in the leaves…he would rather eat them. And he would rather stare at the ground then smile for the camera. Overall though he did a great job and we got some super cute photos of sweet little Ascher.

6 Month Photos @ GB Library

Back at the beginning of October I met Natalie one day after school and we went to town shooting my little munchkin at the George Bush Library. It was really way too bright to be shooting but we made the best of it and I got a few cute ones of my sweet little baby.

I could just stare at that sweet face all day...oh wait!  I DO!! I am the luckiest mom in the world!!

Shawn Visits Texas

The last week of September my cousin Shawn came to Texas for the first time from Virginia!! It was a blast and so much fun to be able to show him fun things around Texas. Aunt Janice drove Shawn to College Station after a few days in Dallas to see my house and meet up with Mom so they could go to Houston. We ate dinner and showed Shawn around campus.

Shawn and Mom got up and headed to Kingwood and before long Ascher and I decided we would follow and go hang out with them. I figured I never get to see Shawn so I would take advantage of being able to go to Kingwood in the middle of the week. I got there and we hung out and a made a plan for the next day. The next day we went to the zoo! I absolutely ADORE the zoo! If we lived in Houston, I would totally want a membership! It was Ascher’s first time to the zoo. Shawn and I could have and did spend hours walking around looking at all the animals. Shawn took a bunch of photos but I uploaded them to my moms computer- I’ll share when I get them! : ) I took a few with my phone…

I see many many more trips to the zoo in our future!

1/2 Year Celebration

In Justin’s family they celebrate turning ½ year old with cake! I was a little weary of this tradition given that Ascher had just started back on solids and has a tendency to throw EVERYTHING up. However, I was so excited. I decided why not! I went and got a cupcake and we let him go to town! I think he enjoyed playing in it more than eating it. And he didn’t eat any of the cake- if anything he got a little frosting in his mouth but for the most part he just played.

So we let him play and Justin and I stood by and watched. My little brain was working though and I decided I would take the cupcake and smash what was left into Justins face. I could tell we were both thinking the same thing but I just acted all causal and picked up the cupcake and BOOM! Anytime in the past I have tried to put food on his face he is stronger than me and gets my hand and I end up the one with the food on my face. Not this time. Of course, he quickly retaliated and we laughed and had so much fun. Daniel & Megan were here and Daniel quickly got the camera and caught it all on film!

I love these photos. I hope that one day Ascher will look at them and see the love that his parents have for each other. I think its so important in a marriage to be able to play and we had so much fun making such a mess!!

Gig 'Em Aggies!

Saturday September 22, 2012 Ascher went to this first Aggie football tailgate. I didn’t think I would be so excited but I couldn’t wait to dress him up in his Aggie gear and walk through campus proudly pushing my stroller.  Yup…this little boy is MINE and one day (should he want) he will tailgate right here with his friends and proudly WHOOP and holler as the Aggies score!!

Family Photo

However, before long little man was tired, hot and crabby. We walked to the MSC and I fed him and he went to sleep on my lap for awhile.

After his little nap we trekked back to the tailgate where Justin held Ascher for a little bit before we headed home. Ascher was exhausted but had a fun Aggie tailgate!!

MOPS

I have really enjoyed joining MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). We meet every other Thursday from 9:30-11:30 and I LOVE IT! When I get there I drop Ascher off at the nursery and head upstairs where we all eat breakfast and chat before our speaker comes and talks. (Each week is someone different) I love it! We have had a speaker on friends, teaching kids about money, keeping the ME in Mommy, and next meeting is about couponing. After the speaker we either do a craft or play a game. It’s a lot of fun and even better that we are all stay at home moms and struggle with the same things and can help and encourage one another.

Here is my table at the first meeting

The second meeting we decorated wood candles

One of the ladies is great and goes around each meeting and takes pictures of everything and everyone. It is so nice to be able to not worry about having to take pictures!

At the third meeting we took a group photo! There are a lot of us! I love it!

Last week our speaker was on teaching our children about money. It was crazy the things she talked about. I am not money minded like that at all- needless to say while it all sounded wonderful- Ascher will not probably not teach his preschool about assets and liabilities like her little boy does. After she spoke we played some games with numbers and the last thing we did was each table had to perform a song for the encouragers. We did The Wheels on the Bus.
This was the baby on the bus goes waah waah waah

So there is my MOPS update. I'll be sure and blog about what our speaker teaches us about couponing after Halloween. I am pretty excited about that!
