More than a story

So, I have nothing to do and I was contemplating on my day and how most of my blogs are filled with nothingness of what I do each day so I was thinking what did I do today that made a difference or made me think and I thought about the song I was listening to on the way to class.
It is a song by Avalon called "Everything to Me." Growing up, me and Elissa (my cousin) always said we were going to sing it in church one day. So hearing it on the radio brought back many memories and then I started thinking about today and what that song means to me.
Here are the lyrics:

I grew up in Sunday school
I memorized the Golden rule
And how Jesus came to set the sinner free
I know the story inside out
I can tell you all about
The path that led Him up to Calvary
But ask me why He loves me
And I don't know what to say
But I'll never be the same
Because he changed my life when He became...

Everything to me
He's more than a story,
more than words on a page of history
He's the air that I breath
The water I thirst for
And the ground beneath my feet
He's everything, everything to me

We're living in uncertain times
And more and more I find that I'm aware
Of just how fragile life can be
I want to tell the world I found A love that turned my life around
They need to know that they can taste and see
Now everyday I'm praying
Just to give my heart away
I want live for Jesus
So that someone else might see that he is...

Everything to me
He's more than a story
more than words on a page of history
He's the air that I breath
The water I thirst for and the ground beneath my feet
He's everything

And looking back over my life at the end
I'll go to meet you saying you've been everything to me

You're more than a story
More than words on a page of history
You're everything to me
You're more than a story
More than words on a page of history
You're the air that I breath
The water I thirst for
And the ground beneath my feet
You're everything to me
Lord, you're everything to me.

It is so true. Recently, two teenage girls from my home town were killed in a tragic car accident. She hit a curb and the car flipped killing the driver and passenger while the back seat passenger was able to walk away without a broken bone. Life is so fragile. We are not promised tomorrow or the next minute. We spend so much of our time memorizing the golden rule and smiling as we walk into church every Sunday but it goes so much deeper than that. When we will put down our mask's and be real with each other. The people who are the closest to us are the ones we hide from. The Lord's love is so much more than a story or words on a page but it is everything we are. It is the reason the breeze blows, the birds chirp and we are blessed with each breath we breathe. I am so thankful for such a forgiving and loving father who will never leave me or forsake me and is EVERYTHING to me. I thank KSBJ for reminding me of that this morning. The lord is good and I pray that each of us will be able to be daily reminded of the presents he gives us daily.
