Week 20: Bump Update

Week 20

size of baby: banana, 6-6.3 inches, 9 ounces

total weight gain/loss: doctor scale says negative 3! 

maternity clothes: yes but still wearing normal tops mixed with maternity tops, depends on what I'm doing, what I need to wear

gender: We found out this week!!! EEEK. In case you missed it...It's a GIRL!

movement: She is getting stronger and stronger. I love watching my belly move and feel her kicks get stronger. 

sleep: I didn't sleep excellent this week because I was so excited about finding out gender/big ultrasound on Thursday. I tried to keep busy during the day but night time I was so excited that I was one day closer to apt I was too jittery to sleep soundly. 

cravings: whole milk (chocolate, please!)

what I miss: happy this week- nothing to report missing! : ) 

symptoms: heartburn, backache

thoughts: 

• It iced real bad here on Tuesday so Bible Study was cancelled- which I was okay with. I wanted nothing more than to stay in my sweatpants all day. 
• Thursday morning Justin and I drove to our 20 week ultrasound appointment. I was so nervous/excited. Our appointment was at 9 am. We walked in and she got started. She explained that we would be measuring everything, checking brain, etc. I also told her that I was hoping we could find out gender as well. She scanned down and said it looked like baby was sitting right on the bottom and it may be difficult to see. However, when she scanned over it she said oh...wait...yes I can see. Its a girl!!!! 3 little white lines!! I cried. I was in such shock. I don't think it still has sunk in. I just knew it was a boy. I am beyond thrilled to have a little girl to love but it still didn't seem real. So by 9:02 we knew that the sweet little baby inside was a girl!! She continued with all the measurements, etc. Everything looked good. We saw all 4 chambers of heart, 3 vein umbilical cord, placenta measuring good, amniotic fluid looked good, brain and skull measuring properly and all bones in arms and legs measuring right on track. EEEKK! While Justin and I waited for our doctor appt (ultrasound was at 9 and doc apt wasnt until 1:15) we ran some errands for the gender reveal this weekend and had a nice lunch at Chuys. We made it our  "date day." Our doctor apt went well and he said after looking at ultrasound everything looked great. I asked my usual 90000 questions and he answered all of them. (Mostly about delivery seeing that we will be an hour away) 
• Friday we got ready for the Gender Reveal. Mom and Jessica were here and they helped me a ton!! Saturday was the big day! (I'll do separate post on Gender Reveal)

Big Brother (Ascher) news:  Ascher had doctor appointment on Monday. He still is having potty issues. Want to run a stool study on his poopie. Loves his daddy this week. All about Daddy from the second he gets up to the time he goes to bed- Daddy!
