Eats: so good. From the beginning she has been a fabulous eater.
She has a great latch. She also likes to go 3-4 hours between nursing. However,
she does have some random days where she wants to eat every 2 hours. During the night she goes 3-4 hours as well.
However one night she ate at 10 and didn’t eat again until 4 am. It was
glorious. Also, she has been EBF. Ascher and I struggled so much with nursing
so I have been very proud of myself that I’ve been able to exclusively breast
feed.
Sleeping patterns:
She is a great sleeper as well. I called the doc in the beginning
and asked how long to let her go because she would just sleep and sleep. I had
to wake her up to eat every 3 hours. I still have to wake her up but by the end
of the month I let her go 4 hours and she normally wakes up somewhere between
3.5 and 4. They told me to continue to wake her up since she does so well at
night- keep the routine and feed her good during the day so she will continue
to keep it up at night and so far so good.
Routine:
Her routine has been go with the flow. Having a big brother
makes her routine a little different than Aschers. Granted, I feed her, change
her, she sleeps and repeats the cycle. However, with Ascher sometimes she
sleeps in the car, in her swing, in my arms, etc. She has been very flexible up
to this point and we are so thankful for that. She hardly ever cries and really
didn’t cry until she was about 3 weeks old. She is loud and grunts and makes
noises but doesn’t cry. She cries now but maybe once a day if she has gas or
waited too long to eat.
Favorites & Little Facts:
...being held
… being close to me- its like she can smell me and wants to
be super close and if I nurse laying down and then scoot away from her she
scoots over so she is touching me
…her daddy—coos when he picks her up & goes to sleep
almost immediately when he holds her close against himself
…her brother- she watches him so closely (granted I have to
remind Ascher to be gentle)
…starting to like her wubanub-I didn’t give her a paci until
she was 2 weeks old (minus the hospital gave it to her a few times in the
nursery)- I wanted to make sure we had nursing down so I gave her my boob
anytime she fussed the first two weeks so it has taken some getting used to but
now she likes her paci.
…lay on her tummy- doctor was super impressed with how well
you hold your head up at your 2 week apt
…lay on her side and sleep
…moans in her sleep while dreaming
~hates getting her diaper changed- one of the few times you
will hear her cry is getting her diaper changed
~also not a fan of changing her clothes-
