6 months 9-29-12

Ascher
6 months old
September 29, 2012

Ascher's Stats
Weight: 16 lb 8 ounces (28%)
Height: 27.5 inches (82%)
Head: 42.5 inches

Clothing size: some 3-6 and some 6-9 depends on the brand and whether or not I like the outfit enough to squeeze him into it : ) Plus the 6-9 is still a little big. He is kinda in that in between stage.

Diaper Size: 3- At first it was Pampers Cruisers but I found Pampers Swadlers in size 3 so I am back on those. I just love them. I especially love the yellow line.

Eats
Milk:
I have given up nursing all day. He still nurses but only in the morning when he wakes up and before he goes to bed at night. It has been really good for us. I feel okay now with letting him have only formula during the day and feel like I've let go a little and its been so good for both of us. I tell myself he still gets breast milk and the formula he is on is really good for him. Our doctor in College Station called it "liquid gold."
Speaking of Neocate, he has been doing FABULOUS on it. He barely EVER throws up now! He isn't on any medicine which I love. I hated having my little baby get RX's and have to rely on medicine so young so I am so happy and relieved that we found something that works that's not medicine. He eats a 5-6 ounce bottle every three hours. And before bed sometimes a 7 ounce bottle. The only negative is Neocate makes for one constipated little baby.
Food:
Yup, thats right....food! He got to start solids again. I have slowly been introducing food again and he loves it just like before, however, now he keeps it down!! Woohoo for no sweet potato & carrot stains! So far he has eaten...sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, prunes, pears and peaches. I stopped cereal & oatmeal. With the formula constipating him, I steer away from grains. He currently only gets two meals a day. Fruit in the morning and veggie in the evening and I only started that towards the end of the month.

Sleeping patterns:
Routine:
I started hard core working on our night time routine. I needed time at night. He was going to sleep so late it was like as soon as he went to sleep I went to sleep too and then I never got anything done. So our routine has been eat dinner with Mom & Dad then bottle. After bottle bath time, lotion & massage with pj's, story time then nurse. That being said...he is not so keen on it. This month has been TERRIBLE when it comes to sleeping. He has been up at least three times a night. He has been sleeping in the pack n play in our closet. We also have been gone A TON. So I think that has a lot to do it with it. I told Justin when he turned six months I'd move him into the crib. I guess its that time.
Schedule: (on a good day)
9pm: asleep
6:15- wake up, eat
7:30-8:30 back to sleep
10-12 (on a FANTASTIC day) morning nap
