Getting in the Groove

We arrived Friday night into Houston and as much as we both loved Mexico we were ready to get back. Mom & Dad came and picked us up at the airport and we headed home. Dad grilled us some burgers while Justin and I went through all our presents with Mom. I hadn't packed anything up from my room or anything and it was already close to 10:30 by the time it was all said and done so we decided we would just stay the night and get up Saturday morning and come back to college station so that is just what we did. Since we have been home we have written thank you notes, cleaned the apartment, gone grocery shopping, looked for jobs (have an interview tomorrow), cooked together, unpacked, repacked, gotten organized, and just been together. It still hasnt hit either one of us that we really are married. But it is so exciting.I've been such a good little Suzie homemaker... I have cooked almost every night and if I havent cooked, we ate the left overs. I'm trying to save us money and eat at home. Here is my Chicken Tetrazzini...

Honeymoon in Paradise

We were off Sunday morning to MEXICO!! We had the best time being together and everything went so smoothly. It rained every night, but never during the day so the temperature was perfect for lounging around and just being together. Justin did so good picking out our honeymoon location! I can't wait to go back! We did a lot of fun things such as kayaking in the ocean, snorkeling, beach lounging, eating, eating, and some more eating, but my favorite thing we did while we were there was swimming with the dolphins. I was the only one who did it but Justin was happy to be my photographer : ) Without him we would have had to pay $149 for 6 pictures!! The best part is this video...

There are close to 300 pictures from the honeymoon so if you haven't yet, you can go to our Wedding Photos link on the sidebar and it will take you to all of them! We had a wonderful time and loved every minute of it!

The Biggest, Best Day of My Life

I think that about sums it up. : ) Everything went perfect. Thank you to everyone who came out, despite the rain. God is good and he turned it off just in time!I'll let everyone know when the professional photos are posted! Thanks again! It really meant so much to have everyone who cares about us there!! We couldn't have asked for more!!

Rehearsal & Rehearsal Dinner

We headed to Shady Oaks Friday afternoon to begin the rehearsal. I was so proud when I arrived and ALL the groomsmen were there. I had been very worried that everyone would be late. Nope, all on time, even EARLY! I was so proud. We got on the gun and started rehearsing.Doesn't our wedding party look so enthused to be there???

After the rehearsal we headed to dinner where a lot of my family had arrived in town that I hadn't seen yet, so I was very anxious and excited to get there! We got there and they were throwing rolls and making everyone have a good time!Aunt Janet, Uncle David, & Vanessa Baby Maggie, Verna, Logan & IndieMelissa, Jason & MaggieDad, Ragan & BradEveryone was laughing and having an awesome time! All of our families, our friends and everyone special to us joined us for this event and it turned out perfect. After dinner, Justin and I gave our bridal party their presents, then gave each other our presents. My present from Justin was PERFECT! I was sooo excited when I opened my box from Justin. I had really wanted a band on both sides but we had discussed that over time I would be able to get it but for now I would get the one band but when I opened the box...there was the 2nd ring! I was thrilled! I stole this picture, but I think it grasps how happy I was and am...I also gave Justin his present. I cried like a little baby explaining the importance of his present. I got him locket cuff links with both of his grandfathers monogram in them. Our grandfathers were very important to both of us and all four of them have left this world and gone to better places but it was important for both of us to have them with us as we wed. I carried a locket on my bouquet that had a picture of both of my grandfathers in it as well. The dinner was over and we headed home to try and get some sleep before the whirlwind of our wedding would begin...

Making it Legal

Late Wednesday night we found out that Matt, our minister couldn't sign the marriage license, so we went into panic mode. Mom and Dad started freaking out that we would NOT be going to the justice of the peace and I just cried. We thought of 8 million different options but decided that we couldn't do anything this late so we should just go to bed and deal with it in the morning. Thursday morning Mom called my youth minister from high school, John. John has always been very special to me. In high school I had a lot of youth ministers but John was special. He came the beginning of my senior year but I was on the committee that choose him and I learned more from John than I thought possible. I still remember his sermons and think of how they have impacted my life all the time!! Anyways...mom called him in tears and explained to him our situation and his response just made mom cry harder...he would be honored to be a part of the wedding and would do whatever we needed him to do. So we set up that we would go to the church at 3, have a little ceremony to make our marriage legal. I called Justin and told him the news and we both were relived that it was all going to work out and he pointed out that it ended up being more perfect that expected because if Matt couldn't do the ceremony I was going to ask John so this way it worked out that we both got what we had wanted. So Friday at 3, I put on my mothers wedding hat and my white dress for the rehearsal and we headed to church-We got to church, discussed what we needed to do to make it legal, and got started. It was really special for me to wear my mom's wedding hat. If you ask my dad what he remembers about my mom on their wedding day, it is her hat. So it meant a lot to me, mom and dad for me to wear her hat. Plus I LOVE hats. : ) After the ceremony was complete and the license was signed we headed back to my house to get ready for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.
