Ascher's Nursery

I realized this afternoon as I was rocking my sweet baby boy in his rocker I hadn't ever taken photos of it all finished. Nor had I posted anything at all about the nursery. So here it is...

So there you have it. I wish I had a wide angle lens so you could see the whole room and get a better feel for everything. I really am happy the way it turned out. Justin found our crib & changing table at Target.com & I really have loved it. His bedding is from an etsy seller where I got to choose what I wanted. The curtain & diaper stacker are from babybedding.com. The vinyl above his bed is also from etsy. The three shelves on the wall are homemade by my sweet hubby. 

Mohawk

Ascher was born with a lot of hair. I love it!! Every night after his bath we have to use a brush and brush it down and if you don't make sure you get all of his head he gets some major bed head. Well one night after his bath I decided he needed a mohawk like his daddy. (In Justin's new born photo he has a mohawk-I'll add photo later) so without further ado- here is my sweet baby with his mohawk. LOVE

One Month

I can NOT believe my baby is already a month old! Where did the first month go? I feel like just yesterday we were packing our bags for the hospital. (Granted as I write this, he is almost two months but I am going to be better now that our routine is kinda in place- for now). The day after Chelsea's wedding little man turned one month old.

Ascher's Stats 

Weight: 8 lbs something...only went to doctor at 2 weeks out and he was back at birth weight which was 7 lbs 9 ounces so I'm giving him some weight gain over the following two weeks : ) 

Height: 20 and a quarter

Clothing size: newborn

Diaper Size: newborn

Eats: 

every 2 hours. talk about exhausting but I love our special time together and wouldn't trade it for the world

Sleeping patterns: 

Well in the beginning of the month at night he still woke up every 2 hours to eat and would sleep during the 1.5 hour between feedings. Towards the end of the month he started going a little longer, but mostly just 3-4 hours but only at night. During the day he doesn't sleep too much. He eats, then sleeps for about twenty minutes and by the time I change his diaper and get situated its time to eat again. He is a hungry growing boy- no time to sleep apparently.  

Routine:

eat, change diaper, sleep, eat, change diaper, sleep (amazing the month flew by when every day I was doing the same thing on repeat)

Favorites:

...bath time. He is so chill- sticks his feet over the net thing and just chills. LOVES it. Gonna have me a little water baby

Firsts:

Outing- Ashley furniture other than the hospital for doctor check ups. We bought new couch & over sized chair when he was 1 week old. He did great. Slept the whole time until the end, then I ended up going to the car to nurse him before coming back in to sign papers. 

Easter- we were exhausted and didn't even take pictures- Bad mommy! I had planned to take photos of us as a family, him in an Easter egg and be all cute. didn't happen. : ( 

Bottle - I wanted Justin to be able to feed him too so on Easter he had his first bottle of milk that I pumped. Sweet Daddy bonding time

Baseball Game- On April 24, Ascher went to his first baseball game. He slept the whole time but we think he enjoyed it. : )

Thoughts for Ascher:

I can't believe we have only known this little boy for one month. My heart swells thinking of how much love I have for this little person. Every day he does something new and grows a little more.  I know what they say is true, the time goes by too fast. I feel like his first month of life is a blur but I honestly believe God made me to be a Mommy. I am in heaven and yeah some nights and days are long but when you look at his little face you can't beat it & I wouldn't trade it for the world. He has grown so so much. I already want it to slow down. 

My Best Friends Wedding

In college there were six of us who were best friends. We called ourselves, NANNNY (it is the last letter of all our first names- Lauren, Chelsea, Jordan, Lauren, Megan, & Kimberly). We love that even though we have grown up and left college we remain best friends and make an effort to still do things all together. (Currently we are planning an trip to Mexico this Christmas season).


Well on the festivities began on Friday morning for her bridal luncheon. Ascher & I drove to Martha's Bloomers and had a lovely lunch before they all headed back to the house to continue getting everything ready for the wedding and Ascher and I headed home.

We chilled for the afternoon and before long it was time to go to the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner. It was a fun outing for our whole little family. Chelsea got married on her aunt's property. It was simply beautiful. 

Saturday morning Mom & Dad arrived to watch Ascher for the night so we could have a night out and not worry about feeding and getting home in time for him to go to bed- plus we were ready for a night out and what better opportunity than Chelsea's wedding. So on April 28th, Chelsea tied the knot!! It was an absouletly beautiful wedding and the bride simply glowed with happiness!!

Kimberly was dying for the bouquet...don't worry she got it. She ripped the flowers off the stem from some other girl just so she could have it. Haha!

It was an absolutely lovely evening and much needed as well. We had so much fun! I love when all my friends are together! I can't wait for our vacation together this Christmas! I love having friends to do fun stuff with even though we are all in different places! Love you all!

Happy 30th Birthday!!!

Exactly 2 weeks after Ascher was born, April 12, Daddy Bear turned 30!!! (yes, I know I'm over a month late posting). We had a low key evening. I went and picked up dinner and we enjoyed being our family of three. 


During the day we sent Daddy this photo wishing him Happy Birthday!

And after dinner I took some photos of my favorite men, one turning 2 weeks old the other three decades...

Pippy Poo

We were really worried how our first born, Pip (our furry friend) would cope with Ascher being born. He is very spoiled and is totally my baby so I was really worried he would be mean to Ascher or not like him. Boy we're we wrong. From the day we came home from the hospital Pip has been a best friend to Ascher. He was so good when we introduced them. He sniffed his feet and after a few minutes of sniffing him laid down in between Justin and I like ok, this is my family now. 

And it didn't stop when we introduced them, he is by his side at all times.
