Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone-

I have now been home almost two weeks and things are going a lot better than I thought. I have enjoyed being with mom and dad and then Jessica and Roy. Saturday I went to Katy and hung out with Justin and his family. and Sunday we came back to Kingwood and hung out with my fam. I love spending time with our families. I miss him already though. : (

This Christmas has been different. It was our first Christmas with Jessica "Reis". It has been fun to watch as we get older how things change. No longer am I the one she cuddles up to when she is cold and no longer does she push me out of the way to run downstairs to get to our "Santa" presents.

Roy and Jessica woke me up at 8:40 this morning and both crawled into a twin bed with me to make me wake up. I was not very happy but it is Christmas morning so I decided it wasn't worth trying to kick them out and to get my lazy butt outta bed and come have "Christmas Morning." We came downstairs together in our matching pj's (ill add pictures later) and opened presents. After it was all said and done Roy and Jessica were outside playing with Roy's new remote control car and it was just me, mom and dad in the living room with the fire and wrapping paper all over the floor and i realized that this is how next year will be....just me, mom and dad. that will be weird.

After we picked up all the trash and got organized the cooking begins. Jessica cant touch grease, mayo or anything else she deems gross so needless to say me and mom do most the cooking while her and Roy cuddle on the couch. We made sweet potatoes in orange cups, ham, cranberry salad, pound cakes, and deviled eggs and I am about to try and make some divinity since Grandpa is too weak to make it. I guess its 1:15 and I should go get out of my PJ's and perhaps get ready for Christmas day...maybe play with my new digital camera a little bit.

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont Blink

My grandfather is not doing very well. He is 94 years old and has had prostate cancer for the past ten years. In the past few weeks his PSA count has been extremely high and his white blood cells EXTREMELY too low. Last night he fell against the counter and broke a rib or two and now is unable to get out of bed. My dad is going to Lake Charles tomorrow to help. My grandpa is an AMAZING AMAZING man of God whom I admire so deeply. He has always been the wisest man I know and more than likely will be the wisest man I will EVER know.

It is heart wrenching to watch as life changes and things that once seemed impossible knock at your door each night...

Psalm 121

I lift my eyes unto the hills- where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip, he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you, the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm, he will watch over your life;

The Lord will watch over your COMING AND GOING BOTH NOW AND FOREVERMORE.

**This psalm is also an amazing Casting Crowns song**

and my favorite psalm of all time, this passage will get me through anything because I know he is my refuge, my rock and my fortress whom I trust in.

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the shelter of the most high will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord "HE IS MY REFUGE AND MY FORTRESS, MY GOD IN WHOM I TRUST." Surely he will save you from the fowlers snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will FIND REFUGE; his FAITHFULNESS will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will observe only with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the most high your dwelling, even the LORD WHO IS MY REFUGE, then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

"BECAUSE HE LOVES ME" says the Lord, "I WILL RESCUE HIM; I WILL PROTECT HIM, FOR HE ACKNOWLEDGES MY NAME HE WILL CALL UPON ME AND I WILL ANSWER HIM; I WILL BE WITH HIM TROUBLE, I WILL DELIVER HIM AND HONOR HIM.

WITH LONG LIFE I WILL SATISFY HIM.

The Lord is true to his word.

Tacky Sweaters and White Elephant Gifts

Tonight was the annual Christmas party where everyone from high school gets together and acts like they are all still best friends with each other even though they haven't talked to each other in years. This year surprisingly though I stayed the whole time and talked to a lot of people whom actually meant something in my life and caught up, set some wrongs right and spent time looking down memory lane.

-I suddenly am extremely tired...perhaps because looking at the clock its almost 2am. night night.

Home Again Home Again

Home Again Home Again Giggty Gig-

I came home last night for the Christmas holidays and have truly gotten into the Christmas spirit. I cant wait for it to be Christmas so i can give everyone their presents. Today was definitely a Christmas season day- I got up and helped Dad put up the Christmas lights outside and we even have two reindeer and a lit up tree- it may not seem like much but to us who have to beg to have Christmas lights put up on Christmas Eve it was a big deal. Mom came out and took pictures of us putting them up. She got two reindeer one big one and one little one representing her two daughters...me and my little mommy, Jessica.

After helping dad I came inside and helped mom write the Christmas letter for the Christmas cards and addressed the Christmas cards. We have been in the Christmas mood all day, listening to Christmas music, eating food, and just laying around talking about Christmas ideas and what we need to do.

Its weird once again to be home without Jessica. I know that as soon as she gets home more than likely we will get into some sort of tiff and i will go back to saying I liked it better when she wasn't here as much of a lie as that is. : ) She and Roy will get here the Friday before Christmas and I cant wait!

I have only been home for one day and already have run out of things to do. Oh well...it will be a long month. : )

DONE!

I am done with school officially. I was finished as of Tuesday and found out Tuesday night I got an 88 on my last final which means that I kept my A and got all 5 A's which means....yup i did it.
4.0!!!!!!!!
I don't know what to do with myself; laugh cry or both. When I found out I got on Kimbo's bed and jumped up and down until she told me i was going to break the bed! Every since I finished I have done nothing but relax and do some Christmas shopping.
Elissa, my cousin and best friend since birth came to see me on Wednesday and she had never seen my house or met most of my friends. I miss Elissa so much- we have such a good time together she really is someone whom has impacted my life and might as well be my sister either that or my twin. She drove home this afternoon and I am going home tomorrow afternoon. It will be weird not seeing the girls every day or playing with Shiloh, but Christmas time is my favorite time of year and i cant wait to go home and make sure I've got all my presents wrapped and ready to give. Christmas time to me really is about giving- but that could take me another whole blog...ill save that for later. : )
Guess I should get to packing and getting organized. Merry Christmas!!! 12 days left!!!

Peanut

Peanut- a impulsive buy

Peanut- fits in the palm of my hand

my baby bunny

Monday night we all went to Santas Winter Wonderland. For those of you who don't know what that is. It is this amazing place. Every Christmas they open and its a old fashioned town that has a big camp fire and all these little shops and a petting zoo and you go on a 20 minute hay ride and look at thousands of lights and decorations. Its a fun and exciting experience.

Anyways- we went on Monday and I had to go to the petting zoo because if you know anything about me, you would know that would be my favorite place and of course they had baby bunnies for sale. I couldn't pass this amazing deal up and bought one.

Now it lives in a little cage and is the cutest thing you will ever see. It is so little and doesn't even smell yet. = )

I told the parental units about it and they shot down the idea of me keeping it and bringing it home over Christmas- needless to say I have to sell her. I will one day have a bunny again. I am sad that I have to give it up but at least I know it will go to a good home.

COLD!

oh the cold weather...some may enjoy it.

I HATE IT.

my nose is runny, my eyes are watery.

i just want to get back in bed.

Today I am officially done with 3 out of my 5 classes. I know in one of my classes my final grade came out to a 98.5/100! So I'm pretty excited about that. My other class I took the final today and will not know my final average for awhile. Oh well I am happy about my 98.5! I have a final on Friday morning at 7:30am! Which will be rather rough for me seeing as how much i love to sleep. My next final after that isn't until Tuesday at 1pm. So I've got plenty of time to study, sleep and Christmas shop.

I just took some Benadryl and am thinking about changing back into my pj's and crawling back into bed which might as well be my second skin. = )

ill study this afternoon....

Time Flies

I cant believe that it is already almost DECEMBER! where has this semester gone? I feel like I just moved into my beautiful home which is now lived in and loved. looking back on this semester, i would say this is my favorite out of all my now almost 3 years of college. i love my friends, my family and everyone else in my life. I have done well in school and for once i know what it feels like to be happy and content with my classes and to WANT to go to class and learn. its crazy = )

Thanksgiving came and went so quickly. I went home on Wednesday and spent time with my family. My grandparents were there and its so nice to see them. Growing up I dreaded spending time with them sometimes because they were so "old and boring". Now i look at them and see what wisdom and love they have for their children and grandchildren. i love my grandparents. my grandpa is 94 years old and is finally starting to act his age. He always has wanted to go for a walk or play tennis but time will wear its toll and he is finally becoming old, but is happy and content with the wonderful life that God has allowed for him to be blessed with. Thanksgiving just wasn't the same though without Jessica. Jessica and Roy spent thanksgiving with Roys family and she said they had a good time. Its so weird to look at Wedding pictures and see how quickly time has flown. I feel like just yesterday Roy was proposing and now it has almost been a year since he proposed! CRAZY how time flies!

We went and saw the ritual cartoon movie of thanksgiving (The Bee Movie-hilarious) and that also wasn't the same without Jessica. It was cold and i had to wear my heavy jacket which i had forgot i even owned but when we got to the movie theater i put my hands in my pockets and pulled out a ticket stub. I almost started crying looking at it. it was a ticket stub from the A&M vs Tech game of 2004. The game i decided to be an Aggie. I can hardly believe that was my senior year of high school and it is about to be my senior year of COLLEGE! its so hard to believe how fast time flies. I love A&M and could not be happier any where else.

Life is good and I am blessed.

This could be addicting.

I could kill Regan for showing me this. I have always tired to do Blogs in the past but have never found one I like. This one might just be it. I always feel so corny writing down everything and in the past I always felt like I was just writing down what I had done that day. But now I feel I have matured and will only blog what is important to me.

I have almost finished my second week of school and I am loving being an Education major. I feel like I enjoy going to class and the girls (since there are no boys in education) that are in my classes. I feel like I have taken a leadership role in my classes and have really stepped up to the plate this semester. I definitely feel that I am on my way to my golden 4.0. Speaking of 4.0, I am concerned that when I get it (because I am going too) people will just say that its because I am an education major. and i know that will upset me. I am working just as hard as the next person and perhaps I will receive my 4.0 because I am good at what I do. I don't mean to be cocky but I will be an excellent teacher some day and the people who will say anything about my classes not being as hard as theirs- well I would like to see them get up and teach 22 1st graders, half of which don't speak English. Alright, I'm done with that I guess. Sorry, just needed to vent.

This past weekend was the first home football game. It was so much fun. We had a full house. Justin, Chris, Regan, Brad, Kason and Carla, plus Rudder and Remy (the dogs) all stayed at our house. We may have had a full house but it was so much fun. I would love to have that much company anytime. Next time I must remember to go to the grocery store in advanced. I'm not used to having boys around. = )

I still want a puppy more than anything. WE went to the puppy store this weekend and they have mini wiener dogs for sale. I wanted one so badly! Having a brown/black little dog would make me the happiest girl in the world. I don't know why but the thought of "Spud" (that will be its name once he becomes mine) consumes my thoughts. One day I will have a puppy. I keep hoping that maybe me showing my parents that I can get a 4.0 will change their minds and perhaps soften their hearts to a cute little 4 legged friend. = )

I just wanted to end with the fact that I am so blessed. I believe that living in America is a blessing beyond belief which is taken for granted a lot of the time. I must say to take the time out and look around at what you have been blessed with might really change your attitude about life. I am so happy and love my life and friends. God could not have blessed me more. I guess I should get started on some studying...one more class and then the weekend begins...

love always-

boo
