Brynns Birth Story

Brynns Birth
I was 36 weeks 3 days on Friday June 27th. I spent the morning with my sister in law in Cypress where I had a few tings of pain but nothing intense or any different than my day to day pains. I drove home and by afternoon time my back was killing me and I just didn’t feel very good. However, my back is always killing me due to the fact that I broke it when I was 18. So I brushed it off and tried to just rest. Rest with a 2 year old is a relative term but I tried.  I figured it was just the end of pregnancy and this was how I was going to feel for the next month. Justin put the swing together and we did some last minute baby things before I went to sleep early and hoped that Saturday morning would bring relief. I woke up Saturday and felt semi-ok- still in pain but manageable as long as I did nothing. The second I started moving/doing anything the pain was immense. I did some laundry, put away Brynns clothes, played outside, etc.

Around 3 again the pain was sooo bad. I couldn't get comfortable nor would the pain go away. We went over to our neighbors 40th birthday party and I pigged out. We ate and I tried to get comfortable but was miserable the whole time. When we came home I took a bath to try and help my back and it felt great when I was in the tub- however, before I even finished drying off I was in dire pain again. Different now from my normal back pain. I got in bed and told Justin- if we lived 5 minutes from the hospital (instead of an hour and a half) I’d make you take me. He asked if we needed to go to hospital and I said no I’m fine. (haha)

Saturday night was awful. I had the worst heartburn even though Id taken nexium, I couldn’t sleep thru the pain, I peed 900 times, dizzy, upset stomach and just felt plain miserable. Around 5 I decided to start timing my contractions/back labor. They were only 2 minutes apart. That freaked me out but I assumed I was just timing them wrong. So at 7 am I texted my nurse who happens to be my friend so I didn’t feel too bad texting her at 7 am. (plus she has 2 little kids so I assumed if Ascher was up, so were her kids) I surely couldnt be in labor- I was not even 37 weeks pregnant.  I told her what was going on and she texted the doc. He said come on in and lets check it out. WHAT! No way. I’m fine…tell me to take some Tylenol and rest. Not come in.

So I called Mom and asked her to come watch Ascher for a few hours (surely we would be home later this afternoon). She hurried over here and was in disbelief when she got here (an hr and half later) to find me and Justin casually eating a bowl of cereal, hanging out. After Kristi told me to come in, I laid in bed and went back and forth. I don’t need to come in. I’m fine. Do we really need to go? My back just hurts. Then I had convinced Justin that we didn’t need to go so he joined the do we really need to go train. We both showered and took our time. I lay back down for a few minutes (hello lauren- that should have told me something).  Finally we hugged Ascher bye and told him we would be back later today (Had I known I wouldn’t be coming back without his sister, I would have lingered holding onto my little baby for a few minutes longer but God has a way of handling things-I would have been a blubbering mess if I thought I was really leaving for the last time pregnant). So off we went. Justin still determined we would be home this afternoon and me nervous we would get there, hook me up and tell me I wasn’t even contracting. We drove there and Justin kept asking me to time my contractions and I would sit real still and he would say see you aren’t even having any. (Because some were bigger than others and harder to hide my pain) And my response would be I’ve had 3- I just haven’t shown you my pain. He quickly piped down. J

We arrived at 11:30 and since it was Sunday we had to go thru the ER. We got there and hooked me up. Before we had finished hooking me up, the nurse said yup you’re having a contraction. Over the next hour they monitored me and my contractions were indeed 1-2 minutes apart. (Thank you Jesus, I wasn’t making this pain up). However, I was still only 2 cm dilated. So at 2:30 Justin and I started walking- we were waiting to see if I was contracting due to an infection- however all my tests came back clear meaning I was contracting because I was in labor. Still at this point Justin keeps thinking we are going home. Meduna (my doc) kept saying we will just keep monitoring. Well my contractions weren’t slowing down and I was getting so tired. We walked again at 5:45 and at this point knew we would be staying overnight (still not sure about if baby would come or not). Still no progress dilation wise, yet my contractions were heavy as ever. When we walked at 5:45-6:15 we had to stop quite a few times because my contractions were so big! (again I should have realized then I was having this baby!) Meduna stopped by one last time to check me and I was now a 2.5 (big whoooop!) He said we would monitor me overnight on lots of fluids and then in the morning re-evaluate and probably start me on some pitocin.

So I had a miserable Sunday night. I slept maybe 3 hours. I could not get comfortable and pretty much contracted all night long. I couldn’t wait for 7 am when I just knew he would come in and tell me that we were gonna start medicine. Well 7 am came and the nurse checked me. 3.5 cm. I had to be a 4 in order for him to “help” me along (even though I was in labor!!!) So again, back to being “monitored” and Meduna would come in later that day to check me again. SERIOUSLY! By lunch time I was soooo annoyed/tired/in pain I just cried and cried. I was tired and I felt like he kept putting me off. Really its because I was so early he was trying to let her cook as long as possible. (This was Monday and I would be 37 weeks if  I could hold out until Tuesday---not happening). He came by around 1 and checked me and I was a 4 (Praise Jesus!) and so we discussed options. He said we could start pitocin and have her tonight or I could wait and have her in the morning. We talked about the risks of having a pre-term baby. However, after discussion we decided that if she needed oxygen at 7 pm she was gonna need oxygen at 10 am- its all the legal side of 36 weeks 6 days vs 37 weeks. After the conversation with Meduna everything got moving so quickly. Suddenly I changed my mind, I wasn’t ready. They started me on pitocin at 1:15 and at 3:15 I got my epidural. I kept telling the nurse I want my epidural. I know I just got pitocin but I want my epidural I have been contracting and in pain for the last 3 days give me some medicine!!! I got my epidural and stayed at a 4 for awhile. Dr. Meduna came back and broke my water at 4:20. After my water broke I cruised along for a little while. They moved me into different positions ever so often (trying to get her to move down into the birth canal) then I suddenly could feel everything again. I could tell when I was having a small contraction and a large contraction. I told the nurse- she checked me and I was still a 5 so they called the anesthesiologist and he came back with some knock you out drugs. Whatever he gave me was fabulous. After he gave it to me I passed out. Literally. Justin went to get some dinner and I took a nap. After awhile the nurse came back and honestly I was annoyed- I was like I’m sleeping here people leave me alone. However, she checked me and said lets do this! You’re ready to have a baby!! And before I knew it we were blowing and going getting everything set up and ready. I started pushing around 7:05 and 10 minutes later (7:17 pm) and a couple pushes later, Brynn Madison came into this world weighing 6lbs 13 ounces, 20 inches long with a head full of black hair.
They cleaned her up a little and then I did skin to skin almost immediately. I wanted to have that bond and hopefully help with my milk supply. I will never forget though the first thing she did when they put her on my chest once she had been cleaned up a little. She was completely swaddled and she opened her eyes for the first time and Justin was leaning over me and she looked up at Justin and my heart melted. It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. An immediate love for her father. (Im crying writing this- it was honestly the sweetest moment). Justin was in love and so was Brynn. I may have been holding her but in that moment it was just the two of them. Something I will never forget.  They gave her the bath, let me nurse and waited for her temp to rise (it was a little low), gave me some time to recover (I FELT AWFUL).
Finally at 10:30 pm they moved us to our post partdum room. Once in that room, Mom and Dad came to meet her for a few minutes (since it was so late). They had been in there all of 5 minutes before I threw up everywhere. I remember feeling sick with Ascher as well but I didn’t throw up like I did with her. Once I threw up I felt much better but Mom and Dad left anyways to let us get some sleep.

I still can’t believe that  I had her and that I had her 23 days early. Unbelievable to me. Now for pictures...

Tyler Weekend for Erin Baby Shower

The second weekend in May Mom, Ascher and I drove to Tyler for Erin's baby shower. It was a fun road trip and once we got there on Friday we met up with Aunt Joan, Erin & Jonathan for dinner then custard at a cute custard place. Ascher and I shared an ice cream and he had so much fun with the girls. They ran around for a little while but before long it was after 8 and  I knew Ascher wouldn't be any fun the next day unless we got him into bed.

Saturday we got up and got ready before heading to Erin's friends house for the shower. It was a beautiful shower. She is loved by many. This is her 3rd girl and we are so excited to meet her. Erin and I are due the same day. Both having girls! Crazy! The funny thing is too that our moms (My mom is her moms sister in law) had babies close as well. Elissa ( Erin's sister) and me are two days apart. Here a few of the pictures  I took this weekend.
all the ladies at the shower who were due days apart/on the same day- crazy that there were 5 of us!!

Week 36
June 24 , 2014

size of baby: crenshaw melon, 19-22 inches, 6.5 pounds

total weight gain/loss: +21

maternity clothes: yes yes and yes. I live in over sized shirts which are no longer over-sized but fit quite nicely. Even getting dressed is tedious.

gender: It's a GIRL! I can't believe our house has exploded PINK!!

movement: slowed down this week. I have been in dire pain so I think my pain has outweighed me thinking about her moving. (Looking back-- probably should have been more conscious to the fact she wasn't moving as much)

sleep: not much. my back has been killing me so I can't get comfortable and then when I do I have to pee or roll over because my back starts hurting again (again should have been more conscious to signs...)

cravings: ICE!, pizza, still loving sweets

what I miss: my body, my back not being in constant pain

symptoms: BACK HURTS, (back labor), swollen, crampy, braxton hicks, peeing all the time, headache, no energy

thoughts:
  • well I didn't make it to 37 weeks. I don't even have my fireplace photo for week 36. I made Justin take photo of me in the hospital to count as my week 36 photo.
  • Brynn was born 36 weeks 6 days after laboring for 4 days (Contractions started Friday afternoon- went to hospital Sunday morning- had her Monday night- birth story to come.
Big Brother (Ascher) news:

  • My little baby became a big brother this week. So upset- I thought I had time- he needed a haircut bad (I know- the important things right!?)

Baby Shower!!

Last weekend we were so blessed to have a shower thrown for us by my sister, two of my best friends from college (Pamela & Colleen), & one of my best friends from work. They are all amazing and don't know how to do anything half way!! This shower was unbelievable and so cute!! I'll let the photos do the talking.

name in ombre (her nursery is pink ombre)
 The decor in living room

my fabulous ombre cake! (the inside was ombre too- all 3 layers!)
 having so much fun
Nike dry fit shorts for little girl- I die.
Ascher wanted to come say Hello when he woke up
All done with presents-- time to put my feet up and reflect on how lucky we are to have such wonderful family & friends
Erin ( my cousin)- due the same day as me with her 3rd girl & Me
My fabulous hostesses!! (Jessica, Natalie, Me, Colleen & Pamela)
 Jessica, Me & Mom
Verna (Mom's cousin- LOVE HER!), Jessica, Hadley, Me & Mom
Family Photo!

It was such a fun day! My cousins from Louisiana & Tyler drove in as well. I was so happy to see everyone and so happy that family made the drive from all over to celebrate our sweet little blessing. We could not be more thrilled and excited to watch as our family grows! I can't wait!! It was a wonderful wonderful WONDERFUL shower!!

35 Weeks: Bump Update

Week 35
June 17 , 2014

size of baby: honeydew, 18.2 inches, 5.5 lbs

total weight gain/loss: +18

maternity clothes: I have found a shirt of Justin's that I got him when I was in college. It is a Delta Gamma Anchor Slam shirt in a large that I am pretty positive Justin has never worn. Anyways- I found it looking for a large comfy shirt to put on. I am pretty sure I have lived in it all week. I've washed it twice and put it back on the same day. I don't know why but it has become my go to shirt (I'm even wearing it in this weeks bump photo). Also, at the beginning of my pregnancy I bought a bunch of clothes from my friend. Well one pair of shorts were a little large- Jessica & Mom would always tells me I was not allowed to wear them out of the house cause they were huge. Well this week. They fit. That's all I have to say about that.

gender: It's a GIRL! I can't believe our house has exploded PINK!!

movement: painful movements now- still blowing and going (At this point with Ascher they weren't as often- she is still crazy in there even though she has no room) When I lay on one side for a long time I feel her entire little body pushing at my sides. Its painful but I just roll over and normally she goes too.

sleep: Snoring has been out of control this week. I mean WOW. I snored with Ascher and I believed Justin when he said I snored this time but this week I was snoring so bad I woke myself up a couple of times. Talk about bad. Its awful. I have never in my life woke myself up from snowing!!

cravings: ICE!, ice cream, still loving sweets

what I miss: getting out of bed/rolling over with ease, having a lap for Ascher to snuggle in (he tries so hard to lay on my lap...its near impossible and painful)

symptoms: swollen, crampy, braxton hicks, peeing all the time, backache, headache, no energy, blah, stuffy (this symptom has never gone away the whole pregnancy)

thoughts:
  • IM SO LARGE!!!!
  • SWOLLEN!
  • She could be here so soon!! We had our 35 week apt and it was our first time to get checked. I am 60% effaced & 1 cm dilated. He told me to hold her in for two more weeks (At least get to 37 weeks) and to think 38! I have this weird feeling she is going to come early. I think Week 38 might be her week- however, this could just be my wishful thinking. : )
  • I ordered the last of the things we needed and once everything arrives I think we will be set. I have washed tons of pink clothes and organized her nursery two or three times and I'm sure once she gets here I'll re-do it again. I still haven't figured out how I plan on keeping her bows and headbands.
Big Brother (Ascher) news:

  • We went to Matthew (Daniel & Megan) 1st Birthday on Saturday. They had a giant blow up slip & slide and a cool little baby splash pad in their backyard. Ascher had a  blast. He LOVES water!
  • Has a new fondness of his paci...we were doing so good. We are currently in a regression. He wants it all the time. I have semi given up fighting him because once baby is here there is gonna be one around (if she likes them).

34 Weeks: Bump Update

Week 34
June 9, 2014

size of baby: canteloupe, 17.7 inches, almost 5 lbs

total weight gain/loss: +18

maternity clothes: This week was a new low. I waited until last minute to find a dress for my shower and it was totally depressing. Our maternity shop here is awful (you'd think itd be good since we live in such a big city...nope). Every dress I tried on was awful. I was a total whale. I went across the way and found a maxi dress at Old Navy. Granted, I needed an XS and they didn't have it so I was just hoping Mom would have time to take it up before the shower (she did). Anyways- we left the mall and I was happy but not thrilled. Nothing looks good. I just feel swollen and large.

gender: It's a GIRL! She has a full name & I still LOVE it!!

movement:  slow strong movements, I think she is running out of room. She is also super low yet (still carrying high) -- if that makes sense

sleep: still peeing all night- but when I am asleep I am out! (Snoring apparently...)

cravings: blueberry cake donutseasy mac, crushed ice, water, fruit, ICEE's, snowcones, ICE ICE ICE

what I miss: my belly button (weird I know), getting out of bed/rolling over with ease

symptoms: swollen, crampy, braxton hicks, peeing all the time, backache, headache, no energy, blah, stuffy/bloody nose (this symptom has never gone away the whole pregnancy)

thoughts:
  • Got a fake ring this week : ) It's a beauty...hehe
  • feeling the nesting bug- getting things done in her nursery
  • went shopping and picked out all kinds of stuff- didn't buy any of it and when I went back to purchase what I couldn't stop thinking about...it was gone. Womp womp. Sad day.
  • got my hair dyed all over again- my hair color was so dull and my gray hairs were rather shiny....hmph (I'm too young to go gray!!!)
  • Had our baby shower this weekend. It was ABSOLUTELY fabulous. My hostessess don't know how to do anything half way!! They went above and beyond!! Shower post to come later this week!
Big Brother (Ascher) news:

  • Daddy went and got him a blow up pool and he lived in it a number of days. He LOVES being outside and playing in the water!

Weekly Photo:
this was my jeans are too tight, I'm changing into sweat pants before Justin gets home outfit : )

33 Weeks: Bump Update

Week 33
June 2, 2014

size of baby: a pineapple, 17.2 inches, 4.5 lbs

total weight gain/loss: +17

maternity clothes: I have never in my life felt uncomfortable in tank tops. I have always had a small frame but lately I wear tank tops and see pictures of myself and say OMG is that me!? I know its all for the baby and I'm not complaining --- its just different. Now that its hot I've been wearing mostly running shorts around and then a maternity top/tank. Nothing too fancy. And if I need to go somewhere, I've been throwing on a maxi skirt or maternity dress

gender: It's a GIRL! She has a full name!! She has had it for a couple weeks but I keep forgetting to put it on here. We are so excited. We couldn't decide on her middle name and then one day just like with Ascher- it came to me and I ran it by Justin and he really liked it...so we tried it out for awhile and we love it!

movement: hiccups like CRAZY!!! She gets them all the time but gets them fast and hard right around 11:45ish EVERY NIGHT. like clockwork. She is still moving a ton but they are very rhythmic movements. Like she is moving her legs, arms, etc. Not just kicking- so crazy its almost the end!! EEEK

sleep: sucks. I was waking up 1-2 times a night to pee...now I normally will pee at least 4 times from the time I get ready for bed until the time I get up for the morning. And I notice how much slower I am walking to the bathroom in the middle of the night. At our old house, my side of the bed was close to bathroom- now we have a much larger master and my side is the farthest from the bathroom. I'm almost to the point of begging Justin to switch sides with me this last month or so. : )

cravings: blueberry cake donutseasy mac, crushed ice, water, fruit (pineapples)

what I miss: sleeping, having energy, feeling like me

symptoms: swollen, high BP (then goes back down), crampy, braxton hicks, peeing all the time, backache, headache, no energy, blah, stuffy nose (this symptom has never gone away the whole pregnancy)

thoughts:
  • Belly Buttons: with Ascher my belly button completely went flat. I loved it. It was clean and didn't hurt when anyone messed with it or anything. I couldn't wait for my belly button to do the same so I could get it good and clean again (weird I know!) However, with her my belly button is a volcano and I absolutely HATE when people accidentally touch it. It is the weirdest thing. It is like she is sucking it in instead of pushing it out. Its gross and sticks out majorly! (p.s. as I'm writing this she has the hiccups)
  • I felt kinda gross earlier this week so I thought I'll take my BP. Well it was 158/80. I have always had super low blood pressure. Like problematic low BP-- never high. So I messaged my nurse and she called doc and he said to go to Walmart and use their machine (more accurate than our electric one from CVS)--- thankfully when I did it at Walmart it was fine. So twice more it has happened and the first time I take it- its high and when I wait 5 minutes and take it 2 more times it slowly goes back down. I'm gonna ask him about it at my next apt (tomorrow)
  • SWOLLEN- I'm so sad about this one. With Ascher, I delivered with my wedding rings & Aggie ring on. : ( Yesterday I had to use soap and water to squeeze them off my little sausages. Also, since I just run errands/around the house I've only been wearing my flip flops. Well I put on a pair of heels this week and OMG my feet wouldn't even half way go into them because they were so swollen. Its weird because they don't look huge and fat which is why I guess I hadn't noticed. They just hurt really bad. I kept saying I feel like my feet are swollen they hurt so bad. Well...I guess they are I didn't know what I was looking for.
Big Brother (Ascher) news:

  • rough week for Ascher- sick little buddy. Took him to doctor on Wednesday after he woke up on Sunday with a snotty nose. Double Ear Infections. Ascher hasn't had an ear infection since before he turned 1. That is OVER a year ago!! Poor bubby. Started him on meds but I'm not sure they are working. Today is day 4 and he is still telling me that there are "bees in his ears". : (

and just for fun-- here I am in same dress at my baby shower for Ascher at 31 weeks compared to 33 weeks with Baby Girl

Month of May Dump

The month of May we were super busy but just doing things here and there...I figured I'd do a little recap in the form a photo dump from my phone. These are just the first 2 weeks of photos- I'll do rest of May tomorrow night. ; )
We finally hung some stuff in Aschers room one weekend. I was going to re-do it into a big boy room but figured I would wait until he moves into a big boy bed and do it at once instead of doing it now and then again when he moves out of crib. So these paintings were hanging in his old room. We also hung up his personalized ABC's & a "finger" painting canvas he did with his BFF, Emma when they turned one.
Justin picked out little girls first outfit. So adorable.
When Ascher wakes up he always wants Mommy to "lay down...cuddle mommy!" until he fully wakes up and it never fails that he climbs on top of my head- its one of my favorite times of the day
True Life: Some mornings look like this.
Big boy haircut for summer
 Popsicles outside
 water table fun
loves to color in the bathtub
I worked a little in the 5th bedroom. Yeah I know it looks awful but would you believe this is progress!!?!  (I unpacked boxes so what was once in a neat giant pile of boxes is now organized into math, reading, books, etc.) This is all my teacher stuff!! And my "nesting" has me wanting this room done even though its upstairs and no one sees it--- I need to be working on nursery/downstairs not up here. Even doing a little makes me feel better though.
Cute little man shopping one night
Our newest nephew arrived on May 10, 2014. Everett Bright. He is precious. We went and visited him on Mothers Day.
Ascher adores his cousin, Grayson. Anytime we play with any boy that is older than him he talks about "Grayson" for days. He thinks that everyone is Grayson and when he actually gets to play with Grayson all is right in the world. He is still talking about Grayson giving him a bouncy ball and it has been 3 and a half weeks since he saw him. He LOVES his cousin Grayson. So sweet.

I'll do the rest of May tomorrow night along with our Memorial Day Weekend Recap!

Week 32: Bump Update

Week 32
May 26, 2014

size of baby: a bok choy (??), 16.7 inches, 4 lbs

total weight gain/loss: doctor appointment this week was +16 (I blame Grandma's cooking last weekend) ; ) I am now officially heavier than I was when I gave birth to Ascher.

maternity clothes: yup. all I can say at this point. (haha) even Justin's medium shirts are getting tight

gender: It's a GIRL!

movement: she moves a lot after I eat or while I am eating crushed ice and still moves the most when I'm trying to go to sleep (I hope this isn't a preview of whats to come).

sleep: pretty much same as last week- I sleep great till I have to get up to pee then I can't go back to sleep for life of me and then Ascher is still waking up before dawn every morning and doesn't want to go back to sleep. I also switched my snoogle around and that has helped the sleeping situation- any time I am having trouble sleeping if I re-arrange the pillow it seems to help a little.

cravings: easy mac, crushed ice, water, candy, desserts, SUGAR!! (total opposite of Ascher)

what I miss: being able to go for a walk and not feel miserable by the end of it, running around/sitting on the floor with Ascher

symptoms: crampy, braxton hicks, peeing all the time, backache

thoughts:
  • Doctor apt was a real crappy day. Not because anything was wrong it just wasn't a fun apt. I drove in the pouring rain- then got my TDAP shot, blood drawn & paid my remaining balance...then drove home in the pouring rain again. However, little girls heart sounds good and I'm still measuring small and looking good. He told me I've just got to make it 7 more weeks! (We are planning a delivery since I am driving into town so he can deliver her) Enter panic followed by giddy school girl giggle.
  • Worked more in nursery--- her bedding came in and we put gold vinyl dots cascading down wall behind her crib. I ordered her initial for above the bed and we hung shelves and decorated them. I'll post pics when its all done. There is still boxes on floor and crap everywhere. But total progress.
Big Brother (Ascher) news:

  • woke up this weekend with allergies but didn't keep him down
  • still waking up in the middle of night/before 6:30am every morning- and he is waking up crying not like he usual does where he just wakes up and says, "mommy...come get me...mommy...where are you?" in a cute playful voice

Weekly Photo:

Pip has turned into a terrible little needy puppy. He is acting out big time (doing things that are major NO-NO's) and won't get off my lap if I am sitting down. He is also stress eating and can devour 3 cups of food in one day (learned that lesson quick--- dont give him 3 cups of food) Normally he can last 3 days and divides it up himself...not currently. I am not sure he is happy about this baby.
And Ascher...care free...worry free.

Week 31: Bump Update

Week 31
May 19, 2014

size of baby: bunch of asparagus 16.2 inches, apx 3.3 lbs

total weight gain/loss: +13

maternity clothes: even my maternity clothes are getting tight. : ( In the beginning of pregnancy I want my clothes to be tight to show off the bump...now they are tight and my tummy hangs out the bottom. FAIL. Unless we are going out somewhere I have running shorts and one of Justin's shirts on at all times. This week we went a few places so I did have to get pretty a couple times ; )

gender: It's a GIRL!

movement: very distinct movements- I can tell that's a butt, that's a hand, etc. Its neat. Justin feels her every night- He always comments that she is rolling around in there. She loves to move as I'm going to bed- not so great for me. I also still get caught off guard and have to yelp OUCH! a number of times during the day

sleep: well I would sleep better if my bladder was larger & I didn't have to pee at least 2 times a night and my 1st born child wouldn't wake up so early

cravings: crushed ice, sweets, snowcones, snickers ice cream, popsicles

what I miss: being so large- I am currently 2 lbs away from where I delivered Ascher. I know its my second kid but I feel so huge compared to Ascher. I think it has to do with the fact that with Ascher I was working so I couldn't just run and get food whenever I wanted/whatever I wanted. This time...I want some oreos...so me and Ascher load up and go get some oreos and I proceed to eat the bag. : )

symptoms: back ache, crampy, Braxton Hicks started BAD on Saturday, swollen feet and ankles towards end of week, lack of patience

thoughts:
  • starting to panic that she will be here in 8 weeks or less & I am NOT ready. With Ascher, I feel like I had everything ready by now. EEEKK perhaps I should go back and read my 31 week with Ascher and see for sure (to ease my mind)
  • worked in her room- going thru clothes, putting gold liner & clothes in dresser drawers
  • went to Bandera for Memorial Day Weekend with Daniel & Megan
Big Brother (Ascher) news:

  • loves the park- went down the big boy slide at the park this week- big accomplishment over here : )
  • Uncle Brad showed him color drops in the bath tub back in November- we finally got some this week and he LOVES changing his bath all different colors
  • loves to sing, "I Love My Mommy!" -- melts my heart

30 Weeks: Bump Update

Week 30
May 12, 2014

size of baby: a large cabbage,15.7 and weighs about 3 lbs (at doc apt she weighed 3 lbs 2 ounces so right on track)

total weight gain/loss: doctor appointment this week was +12 (Nexium has helped me eat like crazy...so here comes the weight gain)

maternity clothes: It has been kinda nice because I'm having to pull out the maternity shirts that are tanks and short sleeves where as I have been wearing the long sleeve, 3/4 sleeve so its like a new maternity wardrobe yet just a different part of the closet. haha

gender: It's a GIRL!

movement: Like literally..I do not remember Ascher being so painful. Like I will be sitting there and have to cry out OUCH! because it hurts so bad. I think it could have to do with how HIGH she is. (she is way higher than Ascher was) Seriously though I LOVE and ADORE all of her movements but sometimes they are a wee bit painful.

sleep: well we were in Kingwood cause Justin had a class and I never sleep as good when Ascher is in pack n play vs crib because he doesn't sleep as good either but overall I did ok comparing to some other weeks when I have MAJOR pregnancy insomnia. Like Friday night...total insomnia.

cravings: watermelon, popsicle, chocolate & skittles, crushed ice (I go to gas station and pay .40 for a 42 ounce styrofoam cup of good crushed ice

what I miss: being comfortable, standing close to the mirror/sink (haha)

symptoms: BACK ACHE!!!, crampy, chin acne (not bad but totally more than usual), charlie horses

thoughts:
  • Doctor apt went great. Got to see her moving around. She is head down (PRAISE THE LORD!) and ready to go. She is weighing apx 3lbs 2 oz and is right on track growth wise. Next appointment is my last set of blood work and TDAP shot. Not a fun appointment.
  • Doctor told me to go ahead and register at hospital along with recommending that once we start my weekly visits (35 weeks) that I always bring my bag with me just in case we stay to have a baby. (AHH SAY WHAT!?) Also, said that after first week of checking and seeing how things are Justin may or may not be advised to come with me to my weekly apts (not sure how we are gonna work that one out...
Big Brother (Ascher) news:

  • We went to Tyler this past weekend for my cousins baby shower (she is due with her 3rd girl the same day as me) and Ascher was FABULOUS. Justin had thing with work (a private lake getaway- don't feel too bad for him) so Ascher came with us to the shower. He was so good. He either sat on mom or mines lap the whole shower and was quiet the whole time. He loved playing with Kaylee & Annabelle (Erin's daughters, 5 & 3) and had so much fun running around their house and backyard after the shower. My little baby is such a big boy!!
