Ascher Turns One: Part III: Cake & Presents

Part I: The Details
Part II: Photobooth & Fun

Cake and Presents. The best part of any party, right!? We had cupcakes from Sam's Club & cake made by yours truly. Ascher is not a fan of sweets so he mostly cried during his cake smash and didn't want anything to do with it. Also- he was getting sleepy at this point so his good mood was almost gone and shoving sweet icing in his mouth was not helping. I'll let the pictures show the rest.

Here Dad- Emerson will like it.
 Hmmm...maybe?
 nevermind

OK MOM I'm DONE!

After cake we all moved into the living room to open presents. He is a spoiled little toot but he loved every minute of it. His cousins helped him open his presents and between them being around & playing with Daddy he was a happy camper- till the end- then he passed out. So much fun makes for one tired little baby.

You can tell in the begining of opening presents he is happy and involved and by the end he is on my lap with a paci in his mouth and heavy eyes. The following was five minutes after the end of present opening.
Passed out. Party success for sure.

Ascher Turns One: Part II: The Photobooth & Fun Outside

Ascher's birthday party was a blast. I had so much fun and it seemed like everyone else did as well. We set up a photo booth in the living room corner. I even bought a wireless remote to take the picture however, my camera (Cannon 50D) was not compatible and all of my friends & family didn't have a camera that was compatible either. Thankfully my brother in law stood by the camera for a good little while and I sent people over to take pictures. It was super simple. I used a table cloth from the dollar tree for the backdrop and then just made cute little props. Here are some of the photos:

We also borrowed my sister-in-law's jump house for the backyard. I knew Ascher would be terrified but I also knew we would have a lot of little kids running around and I wanted to make sure they had something to do. I think it was a hit! The kids played outside the WHOLE party.

Ascher was not a fan of the bounce house but loves his green ball and was happy to play in the backyard with his cousins, aunts & uncles, and friends!

Next up: Cake & Presents followed by the people who love Ascher & spent the day with us celebrating

Ascher Turns One: Part I: The Details

I am determined to get caught up cause I have yet to blog about some major exciting things that have been happening. Two of the biggest being Aschers 1st Birthday Party (might be a few posts) and Easter Weekend. Some other things I want to blog about are my amazing MOPS group, Bible study, & play dates. So that being sad I apologize in advance because I’m about to blow up Blogger with a bunch of posts.

Ascher’s 1st Birthday Party (the details)
The 30th of March we threw our first birthday party. I work well under pressure so though I had been talking for months about his theme and what we would do-- I kinda waited until the last minute but it all came together nicely. I didn’t want to use a good theme on his first birthday since he won’t remember it. And since I love photography so much- I decided his theme would be “In a Flash” The invitations turned out so cute. I ordered them off of Etsy from Sassygfx.
For decoration I hung pictures of Ascher growing over the whole house! In the kitchen on each cabinet door I hung two months of photos. It really decorated the kitchen with little effort. : )

and I bought a chalkboard easel from Kirklands and we wrote on it in chalkboard paint all the little things about Ascher being ONE! (picture was before we wrote how tall he is---oops!)
I hung up a Happy Birthday Banner in the arches of the living room and moved all the furniture to the walls so we had plenty of space for everyone. The picture was Friday night before the house was picked up : )

Mom made the awesome crepe paper banner for over the back windows. She cut each strip of crepe paper then sewed the top so they hung together. It turned out so cute. We also had a smaller version of it to hang on the study door as well right when you walked in the house. We got the idea from pinterest- this pin.  Natalie made the paper pinwheels to hang on either side of the windows. We also used limes and cuties in hurricane vases for the centerpieces. Again- picture from friday night before done.
For the take home I bought bubbles and purchased a digital file off Etsy from Painting Paris Pink of labels that said Thank You.
All along the food table I bought 12 black frames and put his monthly picture in his PB everywhere chair every month. For food we had Laynes Chicken fingers, fruit & dip, chips & dip and veggies & dip. (We like dips what can we say?) I made another giant cupcake and then bought cupcakes from none other than Sam's Club. Delicious!!

 Other random little details:

I cut out Ascher's name on crucit and then put together this little banner. Quick and easy. I put pictures from Ascher's 12 month photos in frames and put them on mantle.
Our front door had another chalkboard easel that said HAPPY BIRTHDAY and Natalie let me borrow her AWESOME balloon wreath. It welcomed everyone to the party!!
Just cuteness on the kitchen counter
His highchair wasn't super fancy- I just hung his ONE letters and taped some green ribbon around the front so that it would look semi decorated. I tried to do more but he would rip it all off so I gave up.

Okay- little man needs a nap- I'll be back after he goes to sleep with more "In a Flash" party details!!

Bluebonnets

Living in Texas you MUST take pictures in the bluebonnets yearly. I can remember going with my cousins driving sometimes for hours to get to the "best" patch of Bluebonnets. I remember running through the open field and feeling like I was in a movie. Haha! It is such a fond memory I have and I want Ascher to have the same ones. Granted he is a boy and probably won't want to frolic in the flowers like I did but still- as long as I can I will take pictures of my sweet little man in the bluebonnets. ; )
Justin had to work the Saturday after Easter so Ascher and I loaded up the car at 6:30 on Saturday morning and drove 45 minutes to meet Ragan & Brad at the "Best" patch of Bluebonnets. It was the best lighting for the camera and I am so so pleased with how they turned out!!

One week past his 1 year birthday.

this lady bug landed on him- : )

I see a future little baseball player

And of course I had to take some with Ragan & some of their cute little family.

and Ragan made me take a glamour shot of myself...

and I'll end with my sweet little man and me

I'm linking up today for Trendy Tot Tuesday. I just love Ascher in his sweet three piece suit. He looks like such a big boy. You'll never guess where I got it...Target. It's Carters brand. $20!!! I just could eat him up in that sweet little outfit. Oh and my favorite part-- the blue button up is a onesie!!! His shoes are from Payless. They had ONE pair and it was marked down to $3--I snatched those babies up!!
