Blanket

*Read Shower #1 Blog First*

At the shower on Saturday we were given a blanket that is made just for us. The only time I cried during the whole shower (minus when Verna was crying and made me cry) was when I read this...

Her Card: "A Gift for Your Bridal Shower"

My Dearest Lauren,
I am not sure how or why God chose this blanket for you. Perhaps it is because it was some of your colors, perhaps "camo" fit your theme. My honest feeling is because I see the Godly team you and your honey make. I read your blog and saw the way you give credit to God in all things. So, Lauren, I feel that camo represents the battle you will fight together in upholding God's word in this world that needs him so. You are his Princess Warrior and your honey is the lead warrior for him. I pray you will always be His vessel and vesselette to spread his love for all of us. Just know that as you use this blanket I have prayed a "hedge of protection" for you and your marriage.
Love Always, The Waltons
With the blanket comes this poem which I will hold dear forever...

This beautiful blanket-
perfect for you couch or bed
was made by a simple crochet hook
and some variegated thread.

But oh the tales that it will tell
As weaved throughout these threads
Will be so many memories
Some good and some you will dread.

There will be times you watch tv
And times you are frozen to the bone
The blanket will be wrapped around you
As if to say- It's ok.

There will be times when after a hard days work
You simply collapse on the bed
And stick your feet under the blanket
Lie back and rest your head.

There will be times when you rock your children
And sing them fast asleep
The blanket will cover both of you
And you don't dare make a peep.

There will be times when the blanket is a roof
To cover the greatest forts
Or made into a Batman cape
Or wrapped around dollies of all sorts.

And when one day your 16 year old
Asks to borrow the keys
This blanket will serve you well
As it hides your shaking knees.

I hope through the years this blanket
Will become tattered and full of holes
Please allow it throughout your marriage
To serve many memorable roles.

Thank you, Thank you Mrs. Walton-This will be something that Justin and I cherish FOREVER!

Shower #1

Not many people can say they had a bridal shower hosted by their old teachers...but I can! : ) Saturday was amazing! We got there and everything looked beautiful and they even surprised me with MnM's with our names on them (in red and orange) AHH! They do know me! Mom put my corsage on and we took a few pictures...Once everyone arrived (also all my old teachers) we chatted and ate cake and goodies! It was so great to see everyone who was there! I feel very loved. One of our family friends was actually graduating high school that day and still came by because she said it was too important to miss! : ) After chatting for awhile I was directed to a chair to start opening all of the many many presents!! I was really excited about the pyrex and our trashcan, our KITCHEN AIDE and...oh really everything but I know Justin is really excited about our new coffee maker!*camo story to be in next blog*After the presents were opened everyone chatted a little more before the boys got there. Dad & Justin arrived to meet everyone and to help load the car up!This is Mrs. Hinton, my 2nd grade teacher whom I love with Justin & I

After we had loaded everything up and Justin had met everyone Justin and I were off to Elissa & Jonathan's wedding! It was really really pretty! All the pictures are on Justin's camera and he has it with him in his truck- so they will be posted later...

Saturday was an amazing day and I thank each and everyone who had any part in it, whether it was planning the whole thing or just showing up- THANK YOU THANK YOU! Words can not express mine and Justin's gratitude for everything! It was wonderful!!

Thirty Years and Going...

Today my parents have been married thirty years!! On Sunday before we ate lunch when we finished praying Grandma told Justin and I that she challenged us to beat her and grandpa- 61 years!
Mom and Dad said they were still working on that challenge...but boy am I thankful to have parents who demonstrate their love for each other each and every day. I hope and pray that Justin and I can have the type of relationship that my parents have!!

Happy Anniversary Mommy & Daddy

...30 years and going strong...so proud and full of love

Let the Fun Begin

First off I would like to say I missed my soon to be family at this weekends events!! The weekend flew by and a good time was had by all! All the photos are on my computer but since my computer doesnt get internet at the Kingwood house I will have to wait to most all of them until I get to CS in a few days! But for now, I will post a few. Friday before Jessica & Verna got here Mom and I went to the grocery store and got tons of food!! : ) Then Verna got here and we tried to go get the labels printed for the invites and it turned into my first bridal break-down! Mom and Verna took me home while they went and got me some sonic while I showered and tried to relax! We watched Bride Wars that night and all got to bed kinda early because we knew the weekend would fly by as soon as the sun came up on Saturday Morning!! Saturday was quite a hustle & bustle before the shower. Mom wasnt sure who all would be coming to the house before the shower so she went all out decorating the dining room table and getting everything looking pretty with all sorts of different foods!
So we ate lunch and drove to the shower thrown by all my old teachers....

P.S. I love you (revisited)

Yesterday I went shopping with Elissa downtown and when we got back to Sam's loft we watched "P.S. I love you" (amazing movie by the way) and today I was looking through old posts while crying after reading Taylors blog & the link and was reminded again of this post...

We have been busy around here. Tomorrow my moms cousin, Verna is driving 7 hours to come to the Bridal Shower! WOW! I feel so honored that she feels I am worthy of a 7 hour drive! : ) Not to mention she is turning around and driving the 7 hours BACK on Sunday morning!! Also, Jessica is coming in town tomorrow. Elissa is already here and Kimberly and Justin are coming on Saturday. This weekend will be busy but SO SO MUCH FUN! Friday will be fun times with family while Saturday will be my first Bridal Shower followed by Elissa's wedding. Sunday will be my second and final Bridal Shower! I cant wait. I am so loved and blessed by all these people willing to throw a Bridal Shower for me!

And the biggest news of all is JUSTIN IS DONE WITH CORPUS CHRISTI!!! I am so proud and happy for him! He had the highest grade on his presentation and all I got about the final was "I passed" : ) He is so ready to "come home" and I am ready for him to be here. Oh I can hardly wait!!!

The Bride with her BOA!!

The BEST mariachi band

The Bride & The Bride to BeI LOVE this picture of Ragan- she doesn't like it but I think she looks gooodddd : )

This band was great! If you cant tell we are singing "Going to the Chapel." We also sang Who Let the Dogs Out, Jailhouse Rock, Whoop There It Is, Hey Mickey (changed to Hey Lissa) They were great- so entertaining- the whole restaurant was singing and dancing with us!

Lastly, this morning our boas were on the floor at Ragans and little baby Avery was trying to decided whether or not she liked them! : )
